Guest guest
Only serum (blood) testing for neurotransmitters is useful. Ask the ped to run the blood and insurance should pay for it. neurotransmitter test I need some answers. My naturalpathic wants to run a neurotransmitter urine test on Maggie. If I use his lab etc, it's $250. I called my insurance company and they will cover it, but it has to be ordered from her pediatrition. My pediatrition says that according to children's hospital, the reason for the test would be to find seratonin, epinephrin and other levels. They use this only for testing for tumors. I would venture to guess that is NOT the reason that the naturalpathic wants to run the test. I know he said if he ran the test and the levels where off, he would treat her with enzymes. Please help me understand this!!! The ped. doesn't want to run it, but I wonder what else I can do. Meds don't work for ADHD, and there isn't any for autism. Her diet isn't working either. ugh! thanks for your help in advance,

For my ADHD kid, it was resolved with interventions to address phenol issues, mitochondrial dysfunction, and viruses. What diet were you using that was not working? Are you using enzymes? What else do you give? Dana
Guest guest
Hi, I just got my son's results from neuroscience most neurotransmitters are elevated. Hopefully we get the NV this Wednesday. I hope this helps with calming ..The test suggested CalmPRT Jr which I was told taste bad. Also Kavinace key ingredients is Taurine and 4-amino-3 phenylbutric acid . And the other one is Avipaxin key ingredients Huperzine A , Alpha glyceryl phosphoryl choline and acetyl L carnitine HCL. I can write out our results if any is interested. I just wanted a base line before NV. I am sure Dr Tom understands this more than I do. I will probably research all this . I was surprise both his dopamine and serotonin were high. Well maybe this is why he has such mood swings. Kathy
Guest guest
It is Dr. Tom (you can find him on this page http://pursuitofresearch.org/advisors.html ) who is offering to help with neurotransmitter testing -you can read about that here http://pursuitofresearch.org/science.html Robin Ketchum is one of the parents from this group already working with Dr. Tom -you can read about her experience here http://littlemermaidmelanie.wordpress.com I think it was originally intended just for those with seizures -but not sure? I will share more after this weekend, but met yesterday with Bill Farley and some of the doctors behind nutriiveda, am planned to meet more of the doctors today. One note of interest as there are many is that Dr. Suhas if I understood him correctly told me that the fruit phyllanthus emblica -or amalaki in nutriiveda is higher for glutathione production than the whey (!!) hmmm right? He is going to send me the paper on this. Also I was asked by the doctors if any of the parents that have noted the surges in their children would be willing to ask the professionals that work with the child for observations. If it was a world renowned doctor that would be best, but teachers, SLPs, any doctors that work with the child. I guess what they are seeking would be called " professional anecdotal " Please send to me at lisa@... Also I know this isn't an issue that most of us are dealing with here -but the doctors behind nutriiveda wanted me to share Obama's Anti-Childhood Obesity Action Plan http://www.letsmove.gov/taskforce_childhoodobesityrpt.html where she talks about " food deserts " meaning there is no healthy choices for the children. The fact that parents are more nervous about whole food nutrition than feeding their child heated up frozen french fries with grilled veleeta on white bread as " lunch " or \ " dinner " kind of explains the mentality as to why we have a problem with nutrition. You understand I do want all to share the following with your child's doctor http://pursuitofresearch.org/NutriiVeda_Information.pdf but none ask if they can let their child drink Carnation Instant Breakfast! Again the reason we are seeing the surges we are may all be based simply in just providing for one of the first times a healthy whole food source of nutrients that may have been missing from our diets. =====
Guest guest
After dealing with many doctors over the years, I have to say that I finally feel I have found the one doctor who I feel will make a difference in Mel's life and our families life.  I really enjoyed my phone conversation with Dr. Tom and felt his positive energy as he was speaking.  The knowledge he possess is just amazing!!  Please contact me with any and all questions you may have with regards to the Neurotransmitter Testing or Dr. Tom.  I am so excited to share with our group the results once all of the tests have been completed.  I am so excited about Dr. Tom and our appointment I tell any and everyone that will listen. Today I was at Costco and the door greeter  asked me how my appointment went with Dr. Tom.  A week before the appointment I told him all about Dr. Tom and the upcoming appointment.  He wanted his full name so he could research him online to make sure I was seeing a doctor that he felt would be able to help .  has touched his heart now for the last 3 years and wants the best for .  After listening to my whole story and tears coming down his eyes he said that I found the Doctor that is going to be able to help our .  He then explained to me how many of the Costco employees actually are touched by and love seeing her with me.  Everyone gets concerned when she is not with me.  He said if ever goes in the hospital again, I am to contact him so Mel's friends from Costco can visit her.  While walking to the parking lot Tom thanked me for not giving up on and seeking Dr. Tom out for assistance with .  I told him he actually had to thank for making this happen for .  began this incredible journey last November when she called me and explained Nutriiveda to me.  then could see the changes that were possible for while  taking Nutriiveda.  Just think I was hoping for to be able just to loose her extra weight gain that was created by her seizure medication.  I never thought it was possible that we would be working with a Dr. like Dr. Tom trying to figure out 's mystery.  Anyone else working with Dr. Tom?  I would love to speak with others as well that are working with Dr. Tom.
