Guest guest
> > Hi, > > I am new to this board. I have a son who is 9yrs old has apraxia, dyspraxia and autism. He has seen a well known DAN and we still are not getting that far. We have been doing DAN for over 5 yrs .I am looking into NACD. I have done ABA and VB and RDI and still doing RDI. My son has been in speech since he was 3 yrs old . What are others doing and getting progress? I am going broke . We have spent so much money . Really for the money we should of had more progress than what we have now. Any advice? > My husband is wanting to move to Ohio for a job and I have no idea how the schools are there. Anyone live in Ohio? I believe he said the Columbus area. > Thanks > Kathy > Hi, Kathy. I am so sorry you are spending so much, and not seeing much progress. We live in Columbus, and homeschool our 10 year old with low vision and apraxia, as well as other special needs. I've found communicating partners, communicating, to be a huge help. It encourages and trains parents to do the therapy, at no cost. You can contact me offlist through my blog, at http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/eaglesnest, if you'd like to ask me anything about homeschooling or Columbus. Guest guest
Oops--the Group name is Communicating Partners--link didn't come out right. Here's Dr. Jim's web site, http://jamesdmacdonald.org/Articles/MacStart.html. Sorry about the goof. I hope this helps.
