Guest guest
> > Hi Bee, I live in Australia and the health food shop thatI purchase through cannot find any Vitamin E supplements that do not contain soy. Can you suggest a substitute for vitamin E capsules. I remember something about wheat germ oil but I'm gluten intolerant. ==>Extra virgin olive oil contains vitamin E but I'm not sure how much you need to take, but you must also be taking at least 3,000 mgs. of omega 3 per day to offset the omega 6 in it. Omega 3 is contained in cod liver oil (winter) or fish oils (summer). Also see the Candida Diet folder for Vitamin E Nutrients contained in foods. You might also want to consider finding a mixed tocopherol/tocotrienol supplement rather than a simply soy-free vitamin E supplement. Apparently supplementing with alpha-tocopherol alone can be worse than not supplementing vitamin E at all because it interferes with the functioning of gamma-tocopherol. Red palm oil is a great source of full-spectrum vitamin E as a dietary oil (not really a supplement). I was using a tocopherol/tocotrienol supplement from Solaray a little while ago-- I know the tocotrienols were extracted from rice bran, but I don't remember if there was soy in or not. Guest guest
My doctor said that recent studies showed that vitamin E in large doses may cause cancer. You may want to check the quantity that your planning on taking with a doctor to make sure that it's safe. I'm going to wager a semi-educated guess that the issue is not so much quantity but quality. Nearly all " vitamin E " is alpha-tocopherol, which is essentially an " anti-vitamin E " because substantial doses of isolated alpha-tocopherol interferes with the functioning of other parts of the vitamin E complex. So it's probably not so much that too much vitamin E causes cancer, but that too much of the anti-vitamin E that they call " vitamin E " on the label causes cancer. However I wouldn't support the soy industry because they are poisoning so many people with their products even if the oil used for vitamin E is okay. Natural Factors has a Clear Base Vitamin E that doesn't contain soy. Bee

What is your name? Dr. Mercola's Carlson All-Natural Vitamin E products are derived from soybean oil. Even thought he explains " However, there is no reason to be concerned that these are from soy – as all of the negative elements of soy have been removed and only the valuable vitamin E elements are provided " I don't recommend it because I do not believe the soy industry should be supported. They have, and still are, causing a lot of health problems with their soy products. So it's up to you whether you want to take them or not - they won't cause any damage. It's crazy how the soy industry is permeating the supplement market. Dr. Mercola says that the soy used in vitamin E does not contain the damaging substances found in other soy products. I do not like to support the soy industry but I can't find any vitamin E without soy in it either. The only alternative is wheat germ oil and I don't know much about it, and whether it is free of gluten, etc. It is a big dilemma! Anyways, I get a lot of my supplements from Wellness Resources. I just happen to have a bottle of vitamin E from them as I am supposed to take it for my mercury poisoning. There is no soy in it and it is derived from rice bran oil. I called them and asked if it was gluten free and it is. As a matter of fact some 20 plus years ago when Byron s started this company, he developed a anti-candida program and formulated a number of supplements to take with it. His Daily Vitamin E is one of them. This is what his web site says about low quality vs. his brand: (low quality) Dl-alpha tocopherol - Synthetic vitamin E, derived from petroleum products. D-alpha tocopherol from soy oil - The oils become damaged and produce free-radicals, using up the vitamin E as it sits on the shelf. Tocotrienols. In Daily Super E,is an advanced form of vitamin E extracted from rice bran oil.Tocotrienols are taken up in cells 70 times more efficiently than plain vitamin E, acting as a far superior and safe form of vitamin E. They said he refuses to use any soy in his products as when it sits on the shelf it becomes rancid. Here is a link for you to compare high quality vs. low quality vitamins. Buy either a " clear base " vitamin E or a " dry form " of vitamin E - Natural Factors Clear Base Vitamin E is great - it's what I take - you can buy it at iHerb on my website. Guest guest
My son is very reactive to soy (Igg not Ige) and we tried a lot of things. Even the ones (oil based) where all of the soy protein was removed, but they all bothered my son terribly. We use Aqua E by Labs, it is unbearably expensive, soy derived, but all proteins are removed, and there is no oil in it, water based for people with malabsorption problems. It is like white water, but causes no problems here whatsoever. Guest guest
, My child is 13 and the last time I used Vitamin E she was very agitated. I believe the Omega 3 6 9 makes a huge difference, and extremely noticeable when removed. She is 110 pounds. How much vitamin E is given and in what combination. Also I keep looking, but I'm thinking not all of these children are GF/CF is that true. Please answer. I'm getting pretty worn out.
