Are you sleeping? Lack of sleep always hits my immune system hard. I'm

sure you've thought of this, but try to reduce stress. Take a day off from

school once in a while, try to exercise, maybe do some yoga or meditation.

And make sure you are getting all your nutrients. Personally, I'm not a big

believer in supplementation - enough sleep, enough relaxation, and enough

nutrients is much stronger medicine.

Other than sleep (as much as possible), I'd also recommend adding some kind

of whey protein supplement to your diet. I don't a study in mind to offer

you, but it's known as an immune-system booster. You don't state what your

" level " of CR is, but you may want to consider adding some more calories

until you start feeling better.

If you do want some supplements, here's the LEF's page for Immune Function:

http://www.lef.org/prod_desc/immuneprod.html

I use the " Enhanced Life Extension Protein - Natural " , myself.

I can't vouch for any of the other products on that list.

Hi Becky: this says it all: (haven't been

> doing much (CR) of that as of late).

I can only relate to you that I started CR in May of 2000, had my last cold

in August of 2000 (3 months later) and haven't had one since. CR is the

best immune booster we currently know of, and no doubt you're looking for a

short cut. THERE ISN'T ANY. At least it hasn't been discovered yet. It

will take you a few months of hard work (writing down what you're eating,

preparing meals in advance if necessary, using some will power) but it's

well worth it when you benefit with better health. Start by just improving

your diet and don't worry about calories at first. In fact you needn't even

do the CR part to benefit from better health. Just eat only healthy foods

and within a few months your health will improve.

You're much too young to have so many things start going wrong. Especially

for someone going into a health related profession. Good luck!

Dear All,

Even though CR is a powerful immune system support, our bodies are assaulted

by so many stressors that we've worked out a regimen of immunity supplements

with our wellness doc:

1 - Lactoferrin, we use the Life Extension Foundation's product. It is

intended to balance GI bacteria and control some viruses

2 - Transfer Factor from 4Life (detail visible on the web)

3 - Mushrooms: daily intake of fresh shiitake or reishi, or Maitake

D-fraction (extract)

A family member has had cancer, so we know about some immunity enhancers

that are also taken for their anti-neoplastic effects or natural killer cell

enhancement. Let me know if that is of interest.
