Guest guest
A very good article, indeed, Francesca! The experience of the Okinawans suggests that they are, even with their restricted energy intake, still within the scope of "normal" lifespan with improved health. I say that as an example that verifies one of the threads presented in the W.P. article. He points out that we may find that we are only increasing average lifespan to say...95 years. At age 69 this month, 70 in 5 weeks, 95 sounds a lot better to me than 74 (male average). So I endeavor to endeavor to persevere. If you have been wondering about my non-participation, I have been experiencing a chronic (as apposed to cronic) stomach discomfort that has made life difficult for me, increasingly for the last year and a half. Because the symptoms seem to correlate well with the occasional side-effects from atorvastatin (Lipitor) I stopped the Lipitor for a few days. I'm feeling much better. I note that I can think more coherently. I also see a medical practitioner tomorrow for a little reallity check. If, in fact, the problem was the Lipitor, I have an interesting dilemma. I will suddenly be thrown on lifestyle alone to combat my hyperlipidemic symptoms. (I've already gone through niacin). Perhaps this is for the best. Walking the wire without a net makes for careful walking, indeed. Thank you for referring this article to us. Ed S. "T. If you can share your diet and lipid (TC, HDL, LDL, TG) with us, maybe I can suggest some changes which will reduce / eliminate the need for Lipitor. ======================== Optimal Health & Longevity, Greg , http://optimalhealth.cia.com.au Optimal_Health_and_Longevity
