Educator and philosopher Cornel West is known as one of America's most

gifted, provocative, and important public intellectuals. Whether in the

classroom, the streets, the prisons, or the church, Dr. West's penetrating

brilliance has been a bright beacon shining through the darkness for

decades. He is the recipient of the American Book Award and more than 20

honorary degrees.

Millions of viewers know Brown as a former athlete, broadcaster and

host of The NFL Today. Brown rose from a middle-class home to earn a

scholarship to Havard and a chance at a professional sports career before

moving on to broadcast jouranlism. Today, he continues to share lessons from

his faith and life experiences, inspiring others to find fulfillment and

significance in life.

Renowned for numerous accomplishments in their respective fields, West and

Brown will participate in a lively, interactive discussion facilitated by

Charisse , author and national correspondent for USA Today. The evening

is an opportunity to take part in a compelling, inspiring conversation which

will be focused on West and Brown's current titles, Brother West: Living and

Loving Out Loud by Cornel West and Role of a Lifetime: Reflections on Faith,

Family, and Significant Living by Brown. Both books are intimate,

deeply personal memoirs from men who have forged landmark careers that have

paved the way for aspiring young women and men who strive to achieve similar

professional and personal goals.
