Guest guest
Here's the question for the day ;-) = has anyone else dealt with diarrhea after starting on NV? We're on day five and I got a call from school - Josh got there, ran right into the bathroom, and was there for about an hour and a half! By the time I got to school, he was back in the classroom (I've got some clothes and shoes to wash - eeeeiiiiuuuww!!) and feeling better, but I figure it's the NV cleaning out the garbage that's in his system. Since I started on NV two days after Josh, I must have this to look forward to (again, eeeeiiiiuuuwww!). When we got home, he was really hungry and ate not only the breakfast he didn't get a chance to eat at school, but also his lunch! Probably not the best to let him eat all of that, but he was definitely hungry!  Sherry and Josh
Guest guest
Hey Sherry, I had the exact same episode happened. When we first started NV he had diarrhea for two weeks. We saw surges, but I didn't think it was a good idea to continue. He was drinking almond milk at the time and was doing fine with the almond milk prior do NV. I decided to stop NV until the diarrhea would stop. It was sad to see the regressions, but we had to do it. After one week his diarrhea got better but it was still somewhat soft, so I wondered if it was the almond milk/chocolate NV combination. I switched to rice milk and started NV another week later and he's been doing fine since. I tried soy in the past and my son didn't do very well either..so the NV with rice milk is what works best for him. Good thing is that he didn't loose any words/sounds he learn during the first two weeks of NV, he was just talking more unclear and as soon as we started back he got better again. What kinda of milk are you giving you son? Just regular milk? Try rice milk. I notice it's not as creamy as regular milk or soy/almond milk when mixed with NV, the consistency is better as well. Anyway, that's what happened with us. I hope you can figure it out! . From: srsilvern@... Date: Wed, 2 Jun 2010 11:14:34 -0700 Subject: Re: [ ] Re: diarrhea? Guest guest
LOL! It seems to be passing quickly. He's eating the usual so I'm thinkin' it was just the NV cleaning out his system. I do plan on rice for dinner! Fortunately, nothing from me (yet)!  Sherry From: kiddietalk <kiddietalk@...> Subject: [ ] Re: diarrhea? Date: Wednesday, June 2, 2010, 5:21 PM  Typically the stools should be soft -not loose even though that is possible. Most report more frequent and a larger amount of foul smelling poops -but should again not be loose. For you either. How long have they been? Anything else different in the diet other than nutriiveda? Just like with the fish oils if loose reduce the dosage slightly (you just increased right?) and you can gradually work back up. Also look at the other foods you are serving right now and perhaps provide more binding foods -rice, milk if not allergic -or throw a banana into the shake if you make it as a shake. More here on FAQ http://pursuitofresearch.org/faq.html Also nutriiveda in supporting the metabolic system will either increase or decrease appetite depending upon the body's needs. Sounds like Josh is getting ready for a growth spurt!!! Tanner who was already growing like a weed (a good one) who went to the ped last month for a sore throat that I was sure was strep (wasn't) and then yesterday for an earache that apparently may be a mild swimmers ear (!!) well I found out he had grown another FULL INCH from last month -so now he's getting close to SIX FEET TALL (and not yet 14!!) For kids nutriiveda should be served with food even though they may not eat as much. Again it's whole food nutrition...and you aren't providing any extra vitamins right? Just fish oils? Again here are the nutrients http://pursuitofresearch.org/ingredients.html Hope this stage passes quickly (pardon the pun) =====
