Guest guest
Hi , The whooshing and muffled ears, balance compromise, and loss of vision I used to get when I would lay down and read for a long time then get up quickly. I put that down to quick changes in blood pressure. It's definitly something you should check out, in the mean time take more frequent breaks from your computer work (as you should). They don't have to be long just 5 minutes, it's better for your eyes as well. I would do it at half the time you sit now. Good luck, and keep us posted. Guest guest
We have issues with this at our house, and it is usually yeast flaring up. Getting it under control is really important. Our daughter is 13 and the mind of a girl in those areas is going thru so many changes, hormones are kicking in and trying to get settled...and so much more. I really have to be on top of her yeast. For us it isn't that she's not hearing....it is just that she is kinda blanking out...or spacing. Looks fine and you don't realize it til you can't get her to hear or pay attention to what you are saying... hth Ronni My daughter is 11 with Asperger. Guest guest
I can't say that I went in and had it tested....but it was just what helped...and therefore precluded that it was. My kids are prone to yeast anyway...and when in doubt suspect yeast...lol...and if that doesn't help....look for other ways to help the issues. For yeast we use a variety of things. We use caprylic acid, undecylic acid, large doses of biotin, Candex, and lots and lots of probiotics. Hope this helps Ronni > > What is to be done about yeast? Guest guest
Hi Kim, I'm new here too. I have that noise as well. I describe the sound as being like a field of crickets on a summer night (in the South). I have had this since about 1995 and it drives me crazy. It seems to be worse when I am feeling especially bad. I went to an ENT with this problem and he said it is tinnitis and there is nothing he could do about it. Just live with it. So I too am anxious to hear if anyone knows how to make this go away or at least improve it. This is a great group. I can't believe how many things require iodine. I had been led to believe that I didn't need iodine because I no longer had a thyroid gland! Obviously bad info. Thanks for being here. Guest guest
There are a few things that I have read about that help with tinnitus. Detoxing in general and getting high quality nutrition. Depending on your age, hormone balancing whether by healing endocrine system and/or estrogen supplementation can help because it is one sign of menopause. Tinnitus runs in my family and I have it a bit too. Mine in mild, but my dad can barely hear at 86. I read as much as I can find on the subject, but there is not a lot out there. One publication that I can’t remember the name of, talks about how detox and good nutrition can eliminate it completely. I expect iodine to help with hormone related tinnitus issues because it makes your body more sensitive to hormones. Mine may be hormonally related because it coincided with peri-menopause. I think I have detected that BP impacts its severity, too low or high. Low runs in my family. Karima On 2/27/08 10:23 AM, " lynnkrt2 " <lynnkrt2@...> wrote: Hi Kim, I'm new here too. Guest guest
Hi Sherry, I'm new too. I didn't have cancer but they thought I did and told me I had to have a total thyroidectomy which I did 40 years ago. After that they put me on synthroid, self-adjusted. I did fine on that for over 20 years until the docs started going by the TSH test. They reduced my dosage from 300 mcg to 150 mcg. I went to an endo and she raised me to 175mcg but would go no higher. That is when all my problems began. I believe that the TSH test has little or nothing to do with whether your thyroid levels are " normal " if you have had a thyroidectomy. And probably not even if you haven't had one. Since that time I have gained 75 lbs. I can't sleep without medication and I developed fibromyalgia, tinnitis, and a lot of other stuff. ugh. Including fibrocystic breasts. But also high BP... maybe because of my weight? I had not connected the tinnitis to low thyroid, but thought it was related to fibromyalgia - which from what I have been reading lately is just another manifestation of being hypo. I also was led to believe that I didn't need iodine since I didn't have a thyroid gland. All this new information is fascinating but overwhelming, but it sounds like there are answers here for us. About 5 years ago, I switched to Armour thyroid and felt some better, but then my doc wouldn't dose it up, even though I know I needed more. I have also found out that you can buy Armour online without a prescription, so I may do that. Let me know if you need the link to that. I have just gotten worse and worse and just recently found the thyroidless group here on . That has led me to this group. I had the saliva cortisol test done and was low, like stage 4. Finally found a doc here to prescribe Cortef and have started doing that and have increased Armour by 1/2 grain. Am going to try to gradually build up. I also bought some Lugol's iodine, but so far have only put it on my skin, haven't taken it internally. I really am pretty lost about all this. Don't know whether to add iodoral in large dose 50mg while I am trying to do the cortisol and the thyroid changes. Well, I'm rambling. I'm tired. I'm not feeling well at all. Have this kind of vibration in my body that is really weird and the tinnitis is very bad right now. What I was trying to say was that I think you need to increase you thyroid medication at least back to where you were or you are going to get worse and worse like me. I don't wish that on anyone. Guest guest
Very interesting. I just had aldosterone test done today, so will get results by Monday I think. Guest guest
Hi Lynn. Yes, I would like the link to purchase armour. I just have a feeling that the new endo is NOT going to be any different. I agree, the TSH test is not the test that we should be dosed on. It is worthless. It may be that the instrument that they use to measure the test is not accurate below a certain number. I think that they are really looking for tests that are high and not low. If they only calibrate the instrument on one end then it is not going to be accurate at the low end. That is my theory anyway. What do your FT3 and FT4 numbers say? I think that they are a bit more accurate than the TSH but the endo's don't want to look at them. I have had a stereotatic breast biopsy on the right breast and it came back negative and now am having trouble with the left one. I refused the stereotactic biopsy on the left and now they want me to have more and more mammograms. I have had an MRI done of the left breast and it does show a mass, but they don't know for sure what it is. I will wait and see if it starts to grow before I do anything else. I want to get on iodine, but I just haven't gotten up the nerve. I am considering going to Washington DC to see Dr. Rind. I know that my medical insurance won't pay, but I am sick and tired to being on the TSH rollercoaster. If my old endo had his way I would currently be on 100 instead of 125. The funny thing is that when I was on 112 before the TSH came back at 3.5. They are telling me that I don't need to be suppressed anymore that thyroid cancer is a slow growing cancer and it is not necessary. I don't think that they get it that I don't want other cancers to start showing up!! There was a blood vessel in my cancer and they told me back 30 years ago that it could turn up anywhere at anytime. This is a major reason I want to stay suppressed along with feeling better. I don't sleep well, only maybe once a week if I am lucky. I am constipated and tired. I try to stay active by walking and jogging. I am not overweight, but I am a person that will starve myself if I start gaining. I currently only eat dinner which I know is not good. It truly is sad that the people that you were taught to trust when we were growing up don't really know a whole lot today. We are just a number... Are you going to start taking the iodine? That certainly will raise your TSH. I would appreciate the link to the armour. Thanks Lynn and I hope that we can get back on the road to good health. Guest guest
, There is no alternative to Florinef that I know of. Just generic Florinef called Fludrocortisone. You could try taking 1/2 tsp. Celtic Sea Salt in water once a day and see if that helps. If your aldosterone is very low it will not work for very long. Guest guest
There is a ton of confusing stuff about detox, many different ideas and theories. I see a naturopath that I respect and I have learned what I can from the cancer protocol my brother was on. I would recommend finding a good naturopath that can assess your individual situation. The basics for detox that I have learned is that there are primary elimination systems: GI tract, liver, kidneys, lungs, lymph's. When these become overloaded, problems develop with the secondary ones such as skin, and sinus. Guest guest
thanks darla I dont like drinking it but will try again sandraDarla <discountinferno@...> wrote: ,There is no alternative to Florinef that I know of. Just generic Florinef called Fludrocortisone. You could try taking 1/2 tsp. Celtic Sea Salt in water once a day and see if that helps. If your aldosterone is very low it will not work for very long.Darla> > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Hi Kim,> > > > > > I'm new here too. I have that noise as well. Guest guest
I love salt, but the salt water IS kind of nasty. I let it set overnight in my big water glass, mix it good with a straw, and drink it in the morning. For some reason it doesn't taste so strong after it has set. Or maybe my taste buds are still asleep. I don't know. :-) Darla > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Hi Kim, > > > > > > > > I'm new here too. I have that noise as well. Guest guest
Hi Karima and all. Do you think that suddently getting a yeast infection after bumping up to 50 mgs of Iodoral could be a detox symptom? I haven't had a yeast infection in years and years...thanks, annie -----Original Message-----From: iodine [mailto:iodine ] On Behalf Of Karima PijankaSent: Thursday, February 28, 2008 10:36 PMiodine Subject: Re: Re: Hearing There is a ton of confusing stuff about detox, many different ideas and theories. Guest guest
Thanks Carol. I am taking 3 1/2 grains of Armour, and I have lowered that from 4 grains since I upped the Iodoral. What can one do if the PH is too alkaline? annie -----Original Message-----From: iodine [mailto:iodine ] On Behalf Of cbwillis9Sent: Friday, February 29, 2008 10:52 AMiodine Subject: Re: Hearing >> Do you think that suddenly getting a yeast infection> after bumping up to 50 mgs of Iodoral could be a detox> symptom? Guest guest
That makes perfect sense, Karima. I started a gluten free diet last saturday thanks to the input of folks here and elsewhere (many thanks!). My daily diarhea/gas has cleared up 80-90% so far. I really hope that the condition of my skin and 24-7 forever sinus congestion will improve at least some. Maybe I'll be able to absorb my iodine and other supps better now instead of flushing them away. ~ > > > > > > > > > > > Karima, Something else I need to learn about: detox.
