Guest guest
Oh boy...what an experience...are you going to put your kid in a different preschool program? I wonder what it will be like in another 3 years when I finish my special ed degree. What you say is so true. I know the teachers have a lot of kids and I know that much of the work in the preschool program is left up to the associates who are not required to have any special needs training in my district. The day care and preschool business in the centers is just as bad with 12 preschoolers to 1 associate in private centers. I have an in home daycare and can only have up to 7 kids. 7 is plenty. I am hoping to move someplace in the country where we can have horses when I am through with school. I live in Iowa and have a 8 year old with autism and apraxia. He still gets speech therapy and has a haulting tone to his voice sometimes but he has come along way. We also have a lot of food issues and he has juvenile diabetes type 1. Kids with autism are 40 times more likely to get juvenile diabetes. I think he has an issue with the mitochondria. I have done a lot of research on studies done with the Joslin Center for diabetes and feel it is all related. Anyway...sorry to hear about your poor experience with the school.
