Guest guest
It was that way with all his cloths this morning. After 30 minutes we finally were able to get him dressed and to school. Could this be anxiety? Sensory? We need help! ----- Original Message ----- From: liralendoncov is he that way with certain clothes? Maybe he's sensitive to tags or snaps or polyester or something. Guest guest
His teacher says he is very good. Quiet but very good. Could his diet be a factor?
Guest guest
sounds like a sensory issue.
Guest guest
was it something new...like was it cold outside and for the first time he had to wear long-sleeve or a jacket. my son has sensory issues and sometimes I give him choices of what he wants to wear. it could also be that he just didn't want to go to school ---does he talk? Guest guest
My son acts a little funny about clothes sometimes but nothing as extreme as crying for 1/2 an hour about them. That must be really awful! One thing that helps me when he gets really upset about certain clothes is if I make a big production of walking over to his closet in front of him and pulling out two different shirts (not the one he's mad about ) and holding them up and letting him make a choice. I've found it interesting because I noticed he always picks what's in my right hand. I've seen that it really has nothign to do with the shirt because if the next day I put the one he initially refused in that hand he will pick it the next day. In my sons case I've chalked it up to being 2, but it sounds like this is a little more for you. Maybe choice would help though! Re: [ ] Re: My cloths don't fit His teacher says he is very good. Guest guest
I agree, when my son was younger he hated anything made from rayon or wool. It had to be 100% cotton and the tags in you child clothes may also cause a problem especially in his shirts. You may want to cut them out. Guest guest
I also have to agree with giving your child option on what to wear. I give my son 2 options on pants 3 on shirts. He feel the material before making a selection Best of Luck Tracey ________________________________ From: " NotefrmSue@... Guest guest
We have been having him pick out the cloths the night before. But yesterday was EXTREME. We are thinking he has an allergy, sleeping problems, or anxiety. Maybe a combination. This morning went very well with him picking his own cloths but making sure he tucked in the shirt. We appreciate all your comments and suggestions!!! Dave Re: [childrensapraxiane t] Re: My cloths don't fit His teacher says he is very good. Quiet but very good. Could his diet be a factor? Guest guest
We are keeping a log of each day activities, food, & sleep. Tags have always been a issue but it does seem like tucking in his shirts help with the feel of his pants. Re: [ ] Re: My cloths don't fit sounds like a sensory issue. Guest guest
It wasn't anything new but he did have Speech before school. The last time he went to Speech he enjoyed it so we don't think that was the issue.
