From High School to College for Students with Learning Disabilities:

An Insider's Guide to a Successful Transition

.. Is college for me? . Can I get into college? . What kind of help

can I get in college? .

.. Do I reveal that I have a learning disability? . Do I have an IEP in

college? .

.. What can I do now to prepare for college? .

This workshop for parents and high school students will answer these and

other questions about college opportunities for students with learning

disabilities.

Topics will include:

Ø How to apply to college for students with learning disabilities

Ø Types of support programs available at 2- and 4-year colleges

Ø Skills students need to manage college life

Ø First-hand experiences of the differences between high school and

college from a panel of college students with learning disabilities

WHO: Parents and high school students who want more

information about college for students with identified learning

disabilities.

PRESENTER: ph Cafaro, MA is a school psychologist and special

education teacher who has co-authored a NJ Best Practice on Transition from

high school to college. He is currently the admissions counselor for the

Regional Center for College Students with Learning Disabilities at Fairleigh

Dickinson University. Mr. Cafaro is a popular presenter with a unique

perspective on the needs of college-bound students with learning

disabilities.

This program is sponsored by the Regional Center for College Students with

Learning Disabilities at Fairleigh Dickinson University and Region V Council

for Special Education through a grant from the NJ Commission on Higher

Education.
