Guest guest
If only incentive were as easy to get as purchasing vitamins or the like then I think it would be allot easier to get off one's assets and get moving. It is allot easier to change nutrition plans AFTER becoming ill than your exercise routine, and after 50 years of sedentary living I think I would have liked a push about 49 years ago to establish such a routine. I have such good intentions when I go to bed at night, tomorrow I'm going to ............, however, morning always comes. Does anyone have any really good ideas of how to make this a fun thing to do????????? Healthy just doesn't cut it yet. Prescott gprescottis@... Guest guest
Hi , I've been working out for 12 years or so and I love it. I crave it. It is my medicine and my meditation. I had an injury and couldn't work out a while back and I became depressed and unmotivated for most everything. I love to sweat. I love to push my limits. I thought that this, perhaps, was a type O thing, but I thought wrong! I love seeing my muscles becoming sculpted. I love to feel my lungs working at top efficiency. I get a sense of exhileration and a high like no other. These are the things that keeps me at it. Some days I don't want to move at all. However, I know if I push myself to " just do a little " I NEVER regret it. I don't think anyone ever regrets exercising (unless they get injured or something as a result...) Maybe you could go with the " baby steps " idea. Commit to doing something, any exercise 3 times a week, ot twice. Anything, then just doit. When you wake up and are tempted to not do it, remember your comitment to yourself. SOME exercise is better than none. Then set bigger goals for yourself as time goes by. Don't think you have to be an ultra-exerciser right away. Start out small- but stick with it. If you slip, just get back on it. Make yourself that beautiful priority. You deserve not to " blow off " your efforts. Maybe find a role model. Maybe put a " gold star " on your calendar for every day you do some movement. After you see it add up, you won't want to give up. Make it your special time to blow off steam. Do you like the outsoors? Think of the sunshine or the fresh air. You absolutely deserve to take care fo yourself. Maybe set out your workout clothes the night beofre and jump into 'em as soon as you get up. There's osmething aobut lacing up my sneakers that motivates me on my laziest of days! , the rewards of working out will blow you away. They are much more than lost weight or any of that. It's amazing what exercise can do for one's self. It's an adventure well worth taking. And, if all else fails, " Just do it " . No excuses. Ignore the voice that does NOT have your best health in mind- or doesn't 'get it' yet. JUST DO IT!!! YOu'll love it, if not at first, eventually. Than you'll wonder how you lived without it. Guest guest
Hi and others, As an alternative to doing aerobics at the gym, running, etc. Try taking up dancing. I used to western dance 2-3 times a week and I would really work up a sweat on the fast swing dances. Furthermore, I lost 20 lbs. in a matter of weeks. This was when I didn't know anything about ER4YT or low carb. Beyond the exercise, it is a very fun social activity. > If only incentive were as easy to get as purchasing vitamins or the like > then I think it would be allot easier to get off one's assets and get > moving. Guest guest
Thanks to all for the encouragement with the exercise. , I love to dance but have not done too much of since the fibromyalgia set in. With fibro the more you do the more exhausted one gets. It is not just tired it is exhaustion to the bone. With all this encouragement, however, I am going to try to approach with a renewed attitude. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for being there. Prescott gprescottis@... Guest guest
Hi and Sparrow, I've never heard of fibromyalgia, but it sounds dreadful. I sure hope you ladies find a curative technique so you can return to positive health. When I overstress my body (lifting weights or vigorous aerobic exercise) I take a recovery drink to curb the fatigue and hunger that invariably sets in over the next few days. I take a 2-3 measures of Opti-Fuel II manufactured by Twinlabs. I've been doing this for several years and it works. Furthermore, I take a complete vitamin & mineral supplement package along with 17 grams of amino acids every day. I've been doing this for several years as well, and I feel great. I use Optimum Nutrition Superior Amino 2222 or Twinlabs Amino fuel chewables. I get my vitamins from GNC and I get my aminos and recovery drink from a wholesale distributer. The distributer's phone is 1-800-848-6896. Hope this info helps. > > > If only incentive were as easy to get as purchasing vitamins or the > > like > > > then I think it would be allot easier to get off one's assets and > > get > > > moving. Guest guest
AAARGH! My conscience has caught up with me (in the form of )!!! I used to do vigorous yoga (astanga) 3x week, but have been through some lifestyle changes lately and haven't even been out walking. That little bit of the book that says " What is the most difficult part to implement " in the survey section? For me it's not the wheat or caffeine - it's the E word. I'll keep everyone updated on this one.....but the good news is I really can't get less exercise than at present (short of taking to my bed and staying there)! The law has clearly attempted to protect the troops of our nation's armed forces based on past military medical community indiscretions. This is also why Rep. has put HR 3460 on the floor of congress as well to tighten up the law in " off label " use of vaccines, etc. The military cannot experiment on it's troops, as is occurring now with AVIP according to two Congress reports (SR103-97 & HR106-556), unless waivers of informed consent have occurred through mechanisms such as EO13139. Guest guest
Maj. Buzz, Unfortunately, I think the good Doctor is very correct, but I, like you, feel that it is wrong for such action to be taken and to be done so the uninformed; without our express consent. The entire principle and law of Informed Consent, was to prevent such unwarranted assault against our person. The law is now twisted and almost neutered. Dr. Fisher is also right about another thing, " Dr. Mengele would be proud " . The laws have been changed, and can be changed again. It's up to all of us, to see that becomes a reality. Guest guest
Buzz, You seem to have a knowledgeable handle on such things. How does the 1987 Supreme Court opinion in United States v. Stanley (483 U.S. 669 (1987) ) affect informed consent with respect to military members? My reading is that it's pretty damning. It essentially gives the War Department carte blanche to do with us as it wishes, with neither our knowledge nor consent. Is there a way around that? Many of us got the injection involuntarily and unknowingly as early as 1993. (I got it in what was obviously part of an " experiment, " in September 1993, since only a subset of those of us who also got our typhoid boosters that day also got the anthrax injection.) Were different (more favorable) regs in effect then? Guest guest
First of all I wanted to comment about how great Ken's website is. It is a really great benefit to a lot of people. Secondly, I think it is worth repeating that this is an experimental *treatment* site, not a research site. While some research relates to exp. treatments, posts that are solely research related, IMO, should be noted 'off topic' in the subject line. Another idea is simply to have a link to the research. No offense to anyone, I simply thought I or someone else should bring up the issue again. Guest guest
You honestly needed to have watched it. Suzie was so embarrassed and pissed... I would have honestly walked off the show. He is so cocky and full of himself... I mean who cares about his past wrestling career... he's lucky to have had her consider him and he acted like such an ASS! Guest guest
He may be cocky and full of himself but why is he lucky for Suzie to give him a look? I just don't get it. To people come together for a reason. Plus this whole relationship could be completely staged. If someone bad mouthed me on national television then I would have a problem but I wouldn't take it on national tv.Baby Cole Monkey <babycolemonkey@...> wrote: You honestly needed to have watched it. Guest guest
He's lucky BECAUSE he's such a cocky ass! Sorry you don't get it... my opinion. Plus, I didn't understand what you said in your last sentence. You're right however, it probably is staged only because when you watch reruns, it's really hard to see that they had any chemistry at all. I hope she does dump him.... it wasn't right what he did.
