Guest guest
Dear Friends and Colleagues: I am reaching out to you on behalf of the NJ Council on Developmental Disabilities to tell you about a new blog they've launched called JustSaySomething.org. The blog, which is part of a larger public awareness campaign, encourages people to speak up about issues that affect people with developmental disabilities. The campaign facilitates positive dialog and encourages discussion, both about things that are favorable to people with disabilities, and those that are not. The blog also includes monitoring the media for issues and situations that affect people with developmental disabilities. Visit the blog's In the News page to see what stories have been posted and to read what people are saying. The Council is also inviting community groups and organizations to host a Community Conversation. These dynamic events bring together local law makers, elected officials, business owners, community providers, people with disabilities and families to discuss ways in which people with disabilities can contribute to their communities in meaningful ways, and to collectively identify barriers and common goals. Click here to read more about three recent conversations sponsored by the Council. If you are interested in hosting a Community Conversation, please let me know. Technical support and guidance are available if you are interested in hosting a Community Conversation of your own. The Council also encourages you to post a link to the JustSaySomething.org blog on your organization's website. Please visit JustSaySomething.org today and join the conversation! You can also sign up to get the monthly JustSaySomething.org e-newsletter.
