Guest guest
According to this site, http://ancienthealer.virtualave.net/Wolfberry.html, the Wolfberry has the following nutritional make-up: Contains over 18 amino acids (that is six times higher in proportion than bee pollen), including the 8 essential amino acids 21 trace minerals more beta carotene than carrots an astonishing 500 times more vitamin C by weight than oranges. Also packed with vitamin B1, vitamin B6, vitamin B6 and vitamin E. Other names for the Wolfberry: Goji Berry, desert thorn, squawberry, Gou Qi Zi, Fructus lycii, Lycee, lycii Origin Native to southern Asia. Sometimes cultivated as an ornamental, and for fruit. A similar species (L. fremontii) is native to the western part of The United States. Apparently they cite a study done by the Beijing Nutrition Research Institute conducted in 1988, that detailed the chemical analysis and nutritional composition of the dried wolfberry fruit. Since this website is trying to sell something I am dubious about these claims until I can find a more reputable source. However, I am unable to locate the research cited. Does anyone know how to get it? Or find actual scientific analysis on this fruit? --Bob
