Guest guest
Hi Ruby, I find your message very sad- especially since I checked the archives and read your one nutriiveda update where you wrote " I have been seeing a few slight change since on the Nutriiveda, including his clarity of the few word approximations he has, and his willingness to entertain/play more himself (always needed my constant attention to keep him interested in anything prior) " I'm not sure if you were given misinformation or you misinterpreted it but it's sad that you believe you need to avoid foods that naturally rid the body of toxins. I have a list of various foods -like an apple for example that also naturally detox the body below and that is what nutriiveda is one hundred percent -a food. http://pursuitofresearch.org/ingredients.html NV or nutriiveda appears to be working across the board for just about all in this group in multiple areaa http://pursuitofresearch.org/pursuit.html I know you also use fish oils -they too naturally detox or " chelate " the body Please see a health/medical professional that is knowledgeable about nutrition -and share http://pursuitofresearch.org/NutriiVeda_Information.pdf so they can explain this to you. Perhaps buy the book Detox Diet for Dummies http://www.amazon.com/Detox-Diets-Dummies-Gerald-Wootan/dp/0470525126 Below is from a quick google search -so much on this -again you were either provided misinformation or you misinterpreted it. Either way..educate yourself, and if you need help doing so see a professional. And here are mainly parent friendly references- one paper but much more in scientific journals if you want to search that instead Natural chelation takes place more commonly in our lives than you might realize. When people hear about chelation therapy, some might think about the modern-day administration of EDTA or DMSA intravenously to remove heavy metals from the body. Others might remember the first treatment of lead and arsenic poisoning with the injection of BAL in the 1940s during World War II. However, chelation therapy is more ancient and natural than you might know. In fact, long before the synthesis of EDTA, DMSA, BAL or other synthetic chelating agents to remove heavy metal toxins from the body, other chelators existed in nature and played an active role in the daily detoxification of the human body. Some of these natural chelating agents are produced in our bodies and in plants. Other agents can found in the soil’s composition (i.e. clay). Natural Chelation - Chelating Agents in the Human Body and from Nature The human body has its own cleansing mechanism utilizing chelating agents. Each cell in the body manufactures its own chelating agents such as cysteine, histidine, glutathione and other metallothioneins designed to remove heavy metals and other toxins. These chelating agents involved in natural chelation are amino acids. Our bodies can only synthesize these amino acids from a sufficient amount of dietary protein. For example, our bodies synthesize cysteine from the amino acid methionine found in garlic and onions. Additionally, sugars, lipids (i.e. fat) and other proteins can act as chelating agents. Recall that our own fat cells are notorious for storing sugars, minerals and toxins in the human body. See below for a more comprehensive list of over 90 sugars, lipids and proteins that function as chelators, whether weak or strong in their mobilization ability to remove metals. Natural chelation is indeed more prevalent than you think. As we age, our cells produce less and less of these chelating agents. So, over our lifetime, supplementation becomes increasingly important to remove heavy metals and other toxins from our bodies. For instance, older adults should greatly increase their supplementation of these chelating agents from plants, clay and fermented foods. Therefore an increased dietary intake of plant and animal proteins is highly recommended to keep natural chelation going. Cilantro and Garlic There are two plants that function as powerful chelators, namely cilantro and garlic, and they play a great role in natural chelation. Based on the research of Dr. Yoshiaki Omura, cilantro can effectively bind and remove mercury from our nervous system. It can also remove aluminum and lead as well. Daily consumption of cilantro for up to two or three weeks can eliminate significant amounts of heavy metals through our urinary track. Also, garlic, containing both chelating amino acids L-methionine and L-cysteine, mobilizes and extracts cadmium, lead, arsenic and mercury within our bodies. Other Plants Practically all plants produce sugars, amino acids, vitamins, such as vitamin C, and even fats that act as effective chelators, but some produce more so than others. Potatoes and lima beans produce a notable amount of L-lysine; onion, lentils and other beans produce L-methionine in good quantities as well. Also, herbs such as yellow dock root are effective against heavy metals like aluminum and mercury. Hibiscus, amla (i.e. Indian gooseberry), sheep sorrel and other plants high in vitamin C have a natural chelation effect on heavy metals too. Clay and Water as Natural Chelating Agents Over any chelator found in plants and animals, some of most effective chelating agents on Earth can found in the soil we trample on and the water we drink. Clay (i.e. bentonite and kaolin) and water function amazingly well as natural chelators. In regards to clay and water, quality and purity are critical for natural chelation and detoxification of heavy metal. Any contaminated clays and water will only introduce additional metals and other toxins into the body. In this case, bentonite clay and distilled and / or ionized water are highly recommended for chelation therapy. Conclusion In regards to effective chelating agents in nature, we have an abundance of natural resources to draw from when creating our own homemade chelation regime for a healthy, restorative lifestyle. Even a daily dose of raw apple cider vinegar (i.e. acetic acid, a weaker chelator than EDTA) is excellent for a daily natural chelation regime to remove heavy metals from our body. Our ancestors have been utilizing nature’s own chelation therapy for thousands of years for health and longevity; so should you. List of Sugars, Lipids and Amino Acids - Chelating Agents found in Nature based on Kratzer's and Vohra's Chelates in Nutrition (1986). But, the best way, is to eat lots of foods that detox the body. Below is a list of detox foods that I thought would be an great addition to everybody’s diet. 1. Fruits Fruits are extremely high in liquid-content, helping the body wash out toxins. They are also very easy to digest and are high in antioxidants, nutrients, fiber and many important vitamins like vitamin C. 2. Green Foods When you are ready to detox your body, fill your refrigerator with blue green algae, barley, wheatgrass, kale, spinach, spirulina, alfalfa, chard, arugula or other organic leafy greens. These plants will help give a chlorophyll-boost to your digestive tract. Chlorophyll rids the body of harmful environmental toxins from smog, heavy metals, herbicides, cleaning products and pesticides. They also aid the liver in detoxification. 3. Lemons, Oranges & Limes These citrus-wonders aid the body in flushing out toxins, as well as jump-start the digestive tract with enzymatic processes. They also aid the liver in its cleansing processes. To increase detoxification, start each morning with a warm glass of lemon water. Remember, vitamin C is one of the best detox vitamins around, as it transforms toxins into digestible material. 4. Garlic This pungent bulb stimulates the liver in producing detoxification enzymes that help filter out toxic residues in the digestive system. Adding sliced or cooked garlic to any dish, will help aid any detox diet. 5. Broccoli Sprouts Extremely high in antioxidants, broccoli sprouts can help stimulate the detoxification enzymes in the digestive tract like none-other. The sprouts are actually more effective than the fully-grown vegetable, despite the picture on the right. 6. Green Tea Packed full of antioxidants, green tea not only washes toxins out of the system through its liquid content, but also contains a special type of antioxidant called catechins, known to increase liver function. 7. Mung Beans The mighty mung bean has been used by Ayurvedic doctors for thousands of years. It is incredibly easy to digest, and absorbs toxic residue on the sides of the intestinal walls. 8. Raw Vegetables Best for juicing detox regimens or eaten raw: Onions, carrots, artichoke, asparagus, broccoli, cabbage, kale, brussel sprouts, cauliflower, garlic, beet, turmeric, and oregano. The combination of these foods will help your liver purge toxins during the cleansing process. These are high in naturally occurring sulphur and glutathione. Sulphur helps the liver detoxify harmful chemicals. 9. Seeds & Nuts Incorporate more of the easily digestible seeds and nuts into your diet. This include flaxseed, pumpkin seeds, almonds, walnuts, hemp seeds, sesame seeds, chia seeds, Siberian cedar nuts and sunflower seeds. While detoxing, avoid nut butters. 10. Omega-3 Oils Use hemp, flax-seed, avocado or olive oils while detoxing. This will help lubricate the intestinal walls, allowing the toxins to be absorbed by the oil, and eliminated by the body. Natural antioxidants for food use Jan Pokornýa Institute of Chemical Technology, Technická 1905, CS-166 28 Prague 6, Czechoslovakia Abstract There is a general trend towards replacing the use of synthetic antioxidants in food processing by the addition of natural oxidation inhibitors or by the preferential use of ingredients that naturally possess antioxidant activity. The chemical structures of natural antioxidants are related to those of synthetic antioxidants; most phenolic antioxidants are pyrocatechol or pyrogallol derivatives, dihydrochromanols, or flavonoids. The most important synergists are polysubstituted organic acids, amino acids, phospholipids are Maillard reaction products, which also efficiently chelate heavy metals. Because of their low solubility, polar compounds or extracts are more suitable for use in fatty foods than for addition to edible oils. The best approach may be to produce fatty foods that are oxidatively stable without requiring the addition of antioxidants. http://www.sciencedirect.com =====

Guest guest
Hi, Yes, I have read the info on NV - but I didn't realise from reading that whey protein, broken down of not was a thiol. I was of the understanding that thiols can affect mercury toxic people ( and both hair and porphyrin tests indicate my boy to have very high mercury levels in his body)who have high cystine levels in different ways (I believe that 33 - 50 percent of mercury toxic people have elevated plasma cysteine) For these people, foods high in thiols raise the circulating thiol levels which in turn mobilizes mercury. We will be doing a sulfur elimination diet on our boy soon (I have been lowering his intake of these foods, and will be ceasing altogether shortly) - this will hopefully give a better indication as to whether Nutriveda will be a good thing for us to use longterm. I really hope this is the case, as I'm aware of the wonderful results people are having with it, and as pointed out, we did see some good from it in the short time that we were using it. I feel I need to be absolutely sure that using it will not be moving mercury around his body though. I need to think about the long term - not just the short. I do intend taking the info to show our biomed doctor at our next appointment. I have shown our gp the info - she is a big supporter of Dr Chopra, and she saw no reason to not use it. > > > > Hi Ruby, > > > > I find your message very sad- especially since I checked the archives and read your one nutriiveda update where you wrote " I have been seeing a few slight change since on the Nutriiveda, including his > > clarity of the few word approximations he has, and his willingness to > > entertain/play more himself (always needed my constant attention to keep him interested in anything prior) " > > > > I'm not sure if you were given misinformation or you misinterpreted it but it's sad that you believe you need to avoid foods that naturally rid the body of toxins.
