Guest guest
if I were you, I'd stop supplements and try just the NV to make sure you can credit any gains made to the NV. Of course, if any of them are doctor prescribed, I'd ask the doctor first. NV should be enough on it's own although most of us are still giving the fish oils as well. hth sandy ________________________________ From: Richa <richakapoor@...> Sent: Tue, July 13, 2010 7:15:00 AM Subject: [ ] Question about NV Â Hello all: I am new to the group. I have heard amazing stories about NV and seriously thinking of trying it. My daughter is 4 years old and is on bunch of other supplements too. Should these supplements be stopped when starting NV or just add NV to the whole mix. Thanks, Richa.
Guest guest
I agree with Sandy. Outside of what is medical necessary and fish oils I would just use the nutriiveda to start. You can always add other supps back down the road if found to be needed...which please share if you are reading this and you found you did need to do this as it appears many of us just now give our children the fish oils and nutriiveda. The reason for the fish oils with the nutriiveda is that one has nothing to do with the other. Fish oils contain the essential fatty acids, nutriiveda contains the essential amino acids and nutrients from whole food sources. Essential means they are essential to the body but the body can't produce it so needs to consume it and as we know from the video on this page the average child today is not eating well http://pursuitofresearch.org/serving_suggestions.html Nutriiveda contains per serving all of the essential amino acids as well as nutrients all from 100 percent whole food sources, which is the purest form of supplementation. Unlike supplementation, even when it's a natural form of supplementation, we need to know if our children are able to utilize the nutrients ingested. When nutrients come from whole food sources they are balanced. For example say you gave your child 240 mg of potassium. You probably wouldn't know if that's too much for a child's daily intake if you were say to just supplement with potassium...but if you gave your child a banana you wouldn't think twice about it, as that banana would contain about that amount of potassium, but in a whole food balanced way. Most have figured out that our children are not utilizing or ingesting enough nutrients and thus many are put on a medicine cabinet full of supplements, digestive enzymes, probiotics etc. But the beauty of nutriiveda is the simplicity. If you look at the ingredient list you will see that between the ingredients, and the nutrients from those whole food ingredients, many of the supplements you would give your child are already in there...again in whole food sources. If you give other supplements together with nutriiveda since we do not know why it is working almost across the board, we will not know if you are contradicting the balance by adding an additional nutrients 'not' from a whole food source (which would then be balanced) This is why I too recommend starting simple and adding more if needed. Why make life more complicated than it needs to be? Perhaps if you have a list of what other supplements you provide you can share them here. For sure nutriiveda replaces the need for a multi vitamin. Here are the ingredients of chocolate as an example, as you can see there is quite an extensive list of amino acids, including ALL of the most important essential amino acids...per serving: Ingredients: Whey Protein Isolates (Amino Acids: Alanine, Arginine, Aspartic Acid, Cystin, Glutamic Acid, Glycine, Histidine, Isoleucine, Leucine, Lysine, Methionine, Phenylalanine, Proline, Serine, Thereonine, Trytophan, Tyrosine, Valine), Rice Life powder (Brown Rice), Natural Cocoa Powder, Apple Fiber, Organic Cane Sugar, Proprietary Ayurvedic Blend (Guggul, Amalaki, Green Tea, Haritaki, Turmeric, Gymnerma, Cayenne Pepper), Xanthan Gum, Stevia, L-Taurine, L-Theanine. You'll find more of the nutrient content on this page -but keep in mind the dosage on the label is per 2 scoops: http://pursuitofresearch.org/ingredients.html We are seeing surges in multiple areas very quickly -a day to a few days pretty much across the board. This page will show you areas to keep your eyes open for http://pursuitofresearch.org/pursuit.html however as I have sent out here there are sometimes other areas of surges that are unusual but just as amazing and needed! Please share your updates once you start! =====
Guest guest
Thanks. I have just started her on Nordic Naturals Omega 369. We are also doing Digestive enzymes, zinc, mag, cal,carnitine,IgG2000,selenium,VitB and VitC. These are the supplements she currently takes. Would nutriveda compliment all these? Thanks!! > > I agree with Sandy. Outside of what is medical necessary and fish oils I would just use the nutriiveda to start. Guest guest
My son's doctor just approved NV. I have been looking at what is in it http://pursuitofresearch.org/ingredients.html and it has much of what we are supplementing separate now. Has anyone tried to stop giving the same things that are also in NV and does it still work? Britt > > > > I agree with Sandy. Guest guest
Yes, you can use NV with a picky eater. Just start slowly-1 tsp-and increase gradually as it is accepted. I would recommend vanilla NV in either the lemonade or orange juice. I would also recommend partnering with a private SLP who specializes in improving the skills of picky eaters (food acceptance/ variety and oral motor skills). In what city/state are you located?
