Guest guest
Hey! We actually have the same " problem " right now. I ended up calling the company and it's fine, in that it's just as effective and nothing is " wrong " with it, other than the consistency. What happens, I guess, is that since the product is made up of botanicals, it can vary a bit from time to time...I guess a good comparison would be to think about a banana-if you eat it when it's green, yellow, and brown, it tastes different and has different consistencies, but the nutrients and " good stuff " are still all there. I have a few different canisters of Nutriiveda right now and sampled each one and they vary in how grainy they are, so this should just be a temporary issue that will work itself out as the manufacturer uses up whatever botanical they have that is doing this. I can assure you that we are new to using NV and we saw surges immediately after starting it (like a few hours!), so I can assure you that it's doing all the things that it's supposed to and maybe even FASTER than usual--I almost thought about calling the company and asking for more grainy NV since it seems to be sooooo effective ;-) I posted a couple weeks ago with our update, if you are interested. If you have any more questions, I will try to answer them, but for now, just try to get through your canister and hopefully the next one will be better! What I've found to work best for us is to put it into chocolate pudding---my son will gobble it up this way and I can get a lot more in one little pudding cup than I could into a cup of chocolate milk or something else (and he will willingly eat the pudding and it was a battle to get him to drink something that had the NV in it)...so maybe try that? I also know someone else said they were putting it in Rice Krispy treats, so maybe try that too, if you have time. Hope that helps!! -Brittany In a message dated 7/31/2010 9:38:49 A.M. Guest guest
Brittany that is such an excellent way of explaining it using the banana example. But unlike the banana many of the vegetations used in nutriiveda are bitter. For my family and my sensory sensitive boys I don't mind the slight variations in flavor as much as the texture if you know what I mean!!! Sensory kids can gag on things that bother them! Tanner gives the rice krispy nutriiveda treats a thumbs way up for a way to get it in here and there as a treat. In fact my boys had a house full of boys that slept over- all tweens and teens and I made a plate of nutriiveda rice krispy treats and didn't tell any of them that I secretly added the NV to them and they all gobbled them down and asked for more- and outside of 2 of the boys as well as my two boys the other 3 boys never had nutriiveda before. To see the list of vegetations in nutriiveda please check out this page here http://pursuitofresearch.org/ingredients.html Serving suggestions here http://pursuitofresearch.org/serving_suggestions.html We didn't put up the recipes yet but here's how I made the rice krispy treats. 1 small regular bag of mini marshmallows (my RK treat fanatic friend said they melt faster than the large) 7 tbs of real butter 8 heaping scoops of vanilla nutriiveda (my friend used chocolate and said it was good too) 5 scoops of rice krispy cereal Melt the butter and mini marshmallows over super super low simmer in as wide a pan as possible -will take awhile but that's OK. Once all is melted take off the heat and you should be able to touch it- just luke warm -it's OK then I figure to add the 8 heaping scoops of nutriiveda. It is going to turn brownish even if you use the vanilla and it's going to look like " no way will I fit all the rice krispy cereal in here " Well the recipe here said 6 scoops -I could only fit 5. My friend only used 3 or 4 and then she regretted she didn't put in more. Just throw in all 5 scoops at once and stir. Have a buttered Pyrex pan ready and pour out mixture and flatten it. Depending upon how many scoops you give your child a day you cut it up- perfect! well kind of sad to take something SOO healthy and make it into something that isn't...but the other way I guess of looking at it is it will be the healthiest rice krispy treat ever in the existence of time! ha! But for real...whether my boys like, love, ask for or don't like, hate the way the nutriiveda is that particular day -they are now 14 and 16 (Dakota just turned 16 yesterday and Tanner 14 a month ago) and we just say " Stop being a baby -hold your nose if you have to and drink it already " and they both do. It does get easier the longer they are on it. =====
Guest guest
I had a shipment of vanilla that was a bit more grainy than other bottles of NV. I put it in the blender, mixed in a bit of yogurt, and a mini-banana - that helped. Fortunately, Josh is drinking it in his milk without any problem so far (about 2 months now on NV). I have not made any of the cookies or rice krispie treats or any other method of getting him to take it - he just looks at is as " chocolate milk " (even with the vanilla, although he does like the chocolate more), thank goodness! He's not a real cookie kid (also thank goodness), but I figure I'm eventually going to need to find other ways of getting him to take the NV.  Sherry and Josh From: lisad529 <lisad529@...> Subject: [ ] Grainy Nutriiveda???? Guest guest
Sherry you haven't shared your blog address in awhile and so I want to again. Just want to mention that I'm not sure if it's because of your attorney spirit but you do such an awesome/perfect job of documenting Josh's journey down to every detail on nutriiveda from day one -I really believe that this type of documentation, your blog, will be so important for individual anecdotal feedback which could be primary to clinical research. For those who don't know this is Sherry's blog to document her son Josh on nutriiveda from day one on NV http://budsnvblog.blogspot.com/ (Is Josh's nickname Bud?) Sherry and anyone else documenting I so appreciate this because we need more to document every day because most still don't know about NV, think the testimonies http://pursuitofresearch.org/testimonials.html are too good to be true, and need to know that this is so worth at least trying, exploring, sharing with your child's doctor at the very least! In all the years I have run Cherab I have never seen anything work this quickly and across the board-on the same level as the essential fats, but appearing to work on more areas and on more cases for some reason (but complimenting supplementation of the essential fats at the same time) About the concern of drinking the same chocolate milk there is another way of looking at it. I'm one of a large group of health conscious people that have had a protein shake for breakfast for years and even look forward to them. I feel better drinking a protein shake to start the day than eating a greasy breakfast for example. Most people that work out drink protein shakes at least once if not more a day for not just health reasons but to build muscle etc. So for guys it's totally normal!! Well healthy guys anyway. And as if that's not enough, outside of health and looking good, put that together with something that for reasons that are still in theory http://pursuitofresearch.org/science.html appear to be helping with neuro-function amongst other things -that's just priceless. I know at least some of the kids themselves (of all ages up to adult) notice the changes. Sherry has Josh said anything to you about his changes/surges? There is one child also a tween like Josh that lives near me that has some of the similar behavioral issues but he also had severe anger and control issues (no communication issue with his autism) and this child after one day on nutriiveda made a friend which is typically very hard for him, didn't throw any tantrums as he typically would -and told his mother " I didn't get angry today like I normally do. Maybe if I stay like this I can play football " (paraphrase; the mom told me he can't play football because " he would kill any child that tried to tackle him " due to his anger issues) His parents were skeptical that the positive changes which were as in almost all cases so sudden (within one day to start) were from nutriiveda so they let the one canister of nutriiveda run out and he's been off nutriiveda for about a week now. I just got a call from this mom yesterday because she wants more as it was a " horrible week " without nutriiveda. Until there is research people will have their doubts -but not for long once they use it -most of us don't let a regression last more than a weekend's time. As those like us know -nutriiveda is life changing and very sad without it. In my opinion now based on what I see I actually think it would be a medical doctor's responsibility to learn about this benign natural way of helping just as most today are aware of the importance of folic acid during pregnancy, and essential fatty acids for numerous medical conditions. It should be something to explore and recommend based on the overwhelming success rate of it and again something that needs to be validated as soon as possible.
