Autism: Looking Beyond Cause & Cure The National Autism Center invites you to join us for a free discussion of critical questions surrounding one of today's greatest healthcare challenges. The event will be part of the 2009 Ford Hall Forum, the nation's oldest free public lecture series. Over the last decade, communities across the country have seen a surge in the number of children diagnosed with autism. With this increase, there has been a tremendous amount of confusing and often misleading information coming from the media, the Internet and even from Hollywood. The result? More questions than answers. What does the latest research tell us about treatments? What strategies work best for families trying to integrate treatment into the family dynamic? It can't hurt to try a number of different treatments, can it? The panel will be moderated by T. Brett, President and CEO of the New England Council and current chair of the Governor's Commission on Developmental Disabilities. Panelists are Dr. Wilczynski, NAC Executive Director, Dr. Myles, nationally recognized author and consultant with the Ziggurat Group, and Woodcock, M.Ed., the parent of a child with autism, and special needs teacher, who will be sharing her personal perspective.
