I am happy to report that during that time, he has opened and closed his mouth more, stuck out his tongue several times, licked his lips, interacted more with his surroundings and thrown a ball overhand several times and a lot of other little things. He still isn't doing the above on command, but considering he wasn't doing them at all before, I think this is awesome. I can't say for certain that it is the result of fish oils, but I don't believe it is a mere coincidence that I am seeing positive changes after starting the fish oil. I have not seen any change in speech, but am hopeful those changes will be happening in the near future. I look forward to the day he is making sounds and then words. Question . . . when is a good time to start the ProEPA with the NN 3-6-9? Kim
Guest guest
I bought mine at a local health food store . . . I believe GNC also carries it . .. . you can check the Nordic Naturals website to find a store locator near you. Guest guest
I mostly buy proefa online from http://www.speech411.com because I get 90 capsules instead of 60 capsules like the one that is supposed to be the same from whole foods. I am all for saving money LOL! Kate > > Where can I order the Nordic Naturals? > > > > > ________________________________ > From: " b.j.dewitt@... Guest guest
it is really wonderful that you are seeing positive changes in your son! I am so happy for everyone with children who are improving.  My youngest turned 2 today and I have been wondering if all of his attempts at speech and a few words too!!!! are because of the fish oil, speech therapy or a combination of both. I wish I had waited longer after starting therapy (finally found a therapist who knows what she's doing!) before starting fish oil to see which one is working or if they are working together. Before starting fish oil 3 weeks ago my son had 1 word that he could say on command about 50% of the time and made no attempts at speech. Now he can say choo choo 50% of the time, kitty 50% of the time, signs for train and his lego people, says no (sounds like o), ow, boo boo, hat, hot, up, out, uh-oh, eat and makes the m and p sounds but can't always do it on command. I have having trouble agreeing with my husband that all of this is due to a good therapist. I am ready to try NV but I will have to scrape the money together first, therapy has just about wiped us out and he's only been going a little over a month. I also started giving the fish oil to my other 2 children ages 5 and 7. I don't see a change in my 5yr old and I have seen increased activity in my 7 yr old who has something going on that we don't know exactly what it is yet. dyslexia? language problems? adhd? He is not bad enough for the school to recognize it as a big enough problem to get to the bottom of it and we don't have the money for appropriate testing. The school just told me to talk to my pediatrician about ritalin....not going to happen! Any suggestions??
