Hi

I need to find a speech therapist in Houston, TX who can diagnose my son one way

or the other (he is 3.5). I'm not sure if he has apraxia. It was suggested by

his speech therapist in May. I was going to go to a specialist in Dallas, but

then we moved to Houston. She didn't know of anyone in Houston.

If anyone can help me or knows of someone who can help me, I would really

appreciate it.

Thanks!

Vicki

Hello My son is the same age and I live in Houston, TX.

I have been searching for the same thing and cannot find answers.  From what I

have been told, Apraxia is very difficult to diagnose and it is something that

has to be monitored over a period of time.  I am taking my son to see a

developmental pediatrician in order to rule out Autism and hopefully he will be

able to give me a diagnosis of Apraxia.  The doctor's name is W.

on.  He is supposedly very good and I hope so because I am paying out of

pocket. I was able to get an appointment with only a 4 week wait time.   My

son's pediatrician referred me to TX Children's Meyer Center but they have a 9

month waiting list.

Sorry I couldn't help you more...let me know if you find out about anyone who

can diagnose Apraxia in a 3.5 year old.
