Guest guest
Bring the advocate--and make sure he or she does advocate for you. I just had an awful iep meeting, so if I was you I would be well prepared and have the advocate there. You should also tape the meeting. And write things down, such as say, " Okay, you are saying even though latest research/and best practice says to have one on one speech therapy for apraxia, let me write this down, you are recommending " group therapy " in spite of this information? " Write it down--ask for their reasons and take notes on what they say and read it back to them--- IDEA also says one on one and or group therapy--------it is not out of line with the law--it is listed first!
