Guest guest
Hi all, My son (age 5) has autism with severe speech delay - his receptive language is about 3 1/2 yr level and expressive is around 2 1/2. He has never been diagnosed with apraxia, though I suspect it. Anyway, I want to take him for another evaluation by a speech specialist but I'm not sure who to go to. He has been evaluated by several speech therapists over the years who basically do the bare minimum evaluation to verify that he qualifies (i.e. insurance will pay) for speech therapy. I should add that his progress in speech therapy has been verrrrry slow, though he has made some and I am confident that he can make more progress with the right type of diagnosis and help. Thanks! - Meghan
