Guest guest
My daughter will be seeing the Geiers this winter/spring and we're about to have her tested to see if their protocol is appropriate for her. I'll report the results when we have them...but in the MEANTIME, you can watch the Reverend Sykes discuss her son Wesley's progress after receiving Lupron treatments! http://www.autismmedia.org/media10.html FAIR Autism Media http://www.autismmedia.org/ > > > Dear Listmates, > > I just had my two daughter's testosterone levels checked. Guest guest
Pardon my ignorance, but why is the tesosterone level high? Is this something lots of kids on the spectrum might experience? Guest guest
Testosterone is thought to be high because the conversion of DHEA to DHEA-Sulfate is blocked. The reaction requires glutathione which is in short supply due to toxicity. By pushing the reaction in the other direction, lowering testosterone appears to raise glutathione levels which may help in detoxifying. DHEA is a precursor to the formation of testosterone and other " sex steroids. " Ken Sokolski
Guest guest
The finding of low DHEA-Sulfate, high testosterone for age and gender, and low FSH appears to be a common finding in autism. The Geiers found it in 15 consecutive patients and I have seen it in the handfull of autistic patients I have tested. In addition, low glutathione, low methionine, low cysteine, low cystathionine, and other transulfuration products have been found consistently. These seem to be the most consistent biological findings in autism regardless of age, severity, or gender. My opinion is that these findings appear to be highly significant and may form a basis for diagnosing and treating autistic children and adults. Guest guest
AJ, My son (5yo) has been on the protocal for 7 months now and has significantly improved. You may wish to join the LupronChelation group. Good luck! worryfree <worryfree97@...> wrote: We have started the Lupron treatment with the Geiers and Dr Megson. Dr Geier has a Lupro protocol with IM shots every 2 weeks and a daily subcutaneous shot. DR Megson on the other recommends once a month. Our son's (9 years) testosterone has been very high (we checked 3 times) and we gave our first shot last week. He has become quieter and calmer since the first shot. So far it appears quite promising. We would like to hear from other families who are trying the Lupron protcols and would like to know the recommended dosages by other physicians. Guest guest
My son is about the same age as your boy and we have been using Lupron on him (and chelating) for about 10 months now. We have been making gains like never before. The monthly Lupron shots are NOT like MB12 shots. They are big shots and the boy needs to be held very still when giving. To learn more about treatment, suggest you listen to the Geiers: http://www.autismmedia.org/media4.html If you do decide to to go with this treatment, suggest starting and finishing before the boy hits puberty. There are very few reports of bad reactions to lupron BEFORE puberty age. Side-effects with lupron seem to happen after a child hits puberty. Good luck. sherry_flamer <slflamer9@...> wrote: My son's (age 5 years, 10 mos., weighs 71 lbs) testosterone test results were 39 (ref 0-10) and our DAN is suggesting Lupron trial. Has anyone used this protocol and willing to share results? Is Lupron an injection I can give at night like B12? My son has been on DAN protocol for almost a year, chelating (DMSA sup.) for 3 mos although we are going to take a break due to low minerals. Lupron is extremely expensive so we are considering a trial to see how it goes and then possibly trying to get a script from his Ped so it might be covered as we have an HMO. I have also requested a referral to an pediatric endocrinologist. However, I'm a little uneasy about Lupron/messing with his hormones and would appreciate any feedback. Guest guest
, That would be so sad especially when you were doing such a wonderful thing for someone. I have a feeling that many drugs are causing new diseases these days. My brother developed severe MS after receiving vaccinations...my father also. I avoid as much as I can because I think there might be a genetic component at work. Life is not easy. ine > dominie > From: allisonbraddy@...>> A couple months prior to full on fibro symptoms. Guest guest
I'm glad that I could bring this to everyone's attention. I definitely agree that medicines and vaccinations these days are messing us up, or at least those who have genetic risk for the disease. I'm pretty certain now that the Lupron started my fibro. I'm SOOOOOOO mad. I'm only 23. And my life if ruined . This is a great group!, however I now also joined another group by the name of Lupronvictims. I would suggest it to anyone who thinks that Lupron is what caused their fibro. Warmly, Start the year off right. Easy ways to stay in shape in the new year. Guest guest
Wow-I never considered the 4 years of infertility treatments using Lupron and then Pergonal could be a cause of my fibro. Neither resulted in pregnancy and I had a hysterectomy a year later because of endometriosis. My fibro symptoms started up shortly after my hysterectomy. > > > , That would be so sad especially when you were doing such a wonderful thing for someone. > > I have a feeling that many drugs are causing new diseases these days. Guest guest
Wow, it is amazing to hear that quite a few people developed Fibro after having Lupron. Please warn all the young women that you know not to use this product, this includes Depot Lupron and Depot Prevara. I was put on them due to Endometriosis and my result has been and will be a lifetime of Fibro. It has been a tough week for me. Doctors not wanting to give pain medicine. I am in so much pain I don't want to move. I am a single mom with an ill mother too. Please just say a prayer for us. Thank you for all the information, this group is great.
