Dear Jeanne,

It was a pleasure speaking with you earlier today regarding your group, The

Apraxia Network of Bergen County.

As discussed, I wanted to share with you what has become something of a

personal mission of mine. I mentioned that I have a beautiful daughter,

, who happens to be a severely disabled child. However, despite her

inabilities she is an angel sent from God. During my career as a financial

advisor - providing personal tax, financial, estate and investment advise to

people of all walks of life, it became more and more apparent to me that

although my profession has been very rewarding and gratifying there still

was a certain element missing.

Having a child like who has special needs can be both challenging and

rewarding. But as you likely know your time to meet certain obligations and

responsibilites can take a backseat to meeting the needs and demands of a

child with special needs. As a parent who is one of the primary caregivers

to my daughter the question I have always asked of myself, 'Is what

happens to if her parents are no longer able to care for her or are

no longer here to do so?' I tended to ignore the question but I knew that

at some point I needed to address this question head on. I needed to

practice what I preached as a professional.

This led me to a kind of an epiphany - I knew there were many families

struggling with the daily care of their child with special needs and

certainly they were faced with a similiar question. My answer was why not

help those families who have a special needs child and provide them with

some peace of mind and a degree of solace that their child will be cared for

when they are no longer able to do so.

Hence, recently I have created a website that is dedicated to children with

special needs and helping parents with the financial and legal aspects they

will need to consider now and into the future. Please visit the website at

www.jdigesu.com. At the website I blog on a fairly regular (weekly) basis on

financial and legal topics and issues related to the special needs

community.

If you would like to pass this information along to the members of the

Aprxia Network of Bergen County and any other special needs families that

would be wonderful. Of course, as I stated to you I am available to provide

a presentation to your members at one of your next meetings. If that is of

interest to the group please let me know so we can arrange a time to discuss

in greater detail.

If you have any questions related to the website/blog , the presentation or

workshop or any other matter please feel free to contact me.

Thank you and may you and your family have a Happy Holiday!

Sincerely,

J. Di Gesu, CPA, PFS, MBA
