Guest guest
Awesome!! I was pondering how to make something like this but couldn't quite wrap my brain around how to make just a few cookies and not waste the NV. Thanks so much for this and I got some of the more bitter NV. > > I just started my 3 y.o. apraxic daughter on Nutriveda a couple of weeks ago (no real changes yet, but I'll keep her on it for a while) and she was decidedly unenthusiastic about eating it, so I came up with this recipe I thought I'd share for others who are having trouble getting their kids to eat it. > > 1 scoop NV > 1 Tbs. natural peanut butter > 1 Tbs. maple syrup (or honey) > 1 Tbs. raisins > 1/2 Tbs. chocolate chips > > flatten into two cookie sized rounds and freeze on wax paper. > The amounts and ingredients are obviously flexible, you get the idea >
Guest guest
you should have seen surges by now with a few weeks on it. I mean first of all I have to tell you this recipe is amazing and you clearly are the type of parent that we need with a creative flair for cooking to help us with this page!!! http://pursuitofresearch.org/serving_suggestions.html So I want it to work for your child too!! I'm going to add this up there if it's OK and call them Momma 's NV freezer cookies OK so how much 'have' you been getting in a day? Has it been at least a full scoop would you say? How does your daughter like the cookies and would you say she would be able to get the full dosage in now? Also is she drinking enough water? I'm asking because it seems like it's working across the board and I want to see it work for your babe too!! This is a great page to compare notes with as even though it typically starts with speech right away -you may notice things in some of the other areas too http://pursuitofresearch.org/pursuit.html Let us know! And again...what a great idea with the cookies!!! =====
Guest guest
Yay thanks for posting this. I mod'd it a little to use hershey's syrup instead of the maple syrup and m & m's instead of chocolate chips and it tastes like a reeses peanut butter cup. My son ate it right up, something that has been eluding me for a while. thanks again for sharing > > I just started my 3 y.o. apraxic daughter on Nutriveda a couple of weeks ago (no real changes yet, but I'll keep her on it for a while) and she was decidedly unenthusiastic about eating it, so I came up with this recipe I thought I'd share for others who are having trouble getting their kids to eat it.
Guest guest
I may have spoken too soon about not seeing any changes. The past couple of days I may have seen some subtle ones. I say " may " because I often convince myself that I'm just imagining things, when the changes aren't super-obvious. She's been chewing on things a lot, which she hasn't really done in a while, but it could also be because her baby sister is teething and she's mimicking her. I think she may be attempting more language, also. It has sort of presented as me not knowing what she's talking about more, ironically, but I think that's because she's spontaneously attempting more words, instead of just repeating or saying the same old things that are easy for me to figure out. For about a year she has been actually talking quite a bit, like all day long, lol, but her pronunciation is horrible (strangers can hardly ever understand her), and her vocabulary is limited, and she's often just repeating what she just heard, instead of doing her own word retrieval. She has said a handful of things in the past couple of days that I've been surprised she's come up with. Along with starting the NV, she's started getting much more speech therapy, as well as more Craniosacral therapy, which has helped her in the past. All of these things are happening due to some funding I received. As far as getting enough NV into her, it's tough. She likes the cookies all right, but they're quite filling, so she'll sort of nibble on them throughout the day (I keep putting them back in the freezer then pulling them out again), but one cookie only has 1/2 scoop, so I make 1 cup of smoothie that has 1 slightly heaping scoop in it, which I have to coerce her to drink throughout the day as well. Between the two things I have been getting 1, maybe one slightly heaping scoop into her, but it's a struggle. She's 3 1/2 years old and 34 pounds. I can't even imagine trying to get 2 scoops into her. When I look at my calendar I can see that she's only consistently gotten a scoop a day for maybe a week and a half .. I started June 30 but got very frustrated with trying to get her to eat it so backed off for a while. I assume she's drinking enough water, she's always been good about drinking throughout the day, and her poops have been regular. So I'll just pay close attention in the next week and let ya'll know, thanks, > > you should have seen surges by now with a few weeks on it.
