Guest guest
Hi Debbie Just to let you know, that Oil of Evening Primrose is useful to take, as it prevents Candida as a yeast morphing into a fungus. I take 3000mg a day, 1000mg in the morning, 1000mg at lunch and 1000mg in the evening. Guest guest
Tamara Tornado wrote: > what's the difference between fish oil and cod liver oil? The liver stores vit A and D and concentrates them, so oil from the *liver* of fish is suitable for use as a vit A and D supplement, but not as a food, it has too much Vit A and D. So you should not consider fish liver oil (from cod or any other fish) as a dietary food - do not consume a lot of it or use it as a dietary fat, only as a vitamin supplement. Liver oil will also accumulate toxins as that's what the liver does - takes out the toxins in the blood stream, so you'd not want too much fish liver oil. Fish oil on the other hand is just the fatty part of the fish - it is fish fat - and is a good source of dietary fat. The fat in fish is liquid - it is oil. That's what fish oil is. So a fish oil supplement - whether salmon or other fish oil - is simply a healthy form of fat to use as you would any other fat in your diet. The benefit is that fish oil is high in EPA and DHA unlike other oils ands fats - those are the two omega-3 fatty acids that reduce inflammation throughout the body - and are very powerful antioxidants. Also fish oil lowers triglycerides, raises HDL (but does not help LDL). So there is a big difference between fish *liver* oil and fish oil, whether it comes from cod or salmon or some other cold water fish. Cold water fish like salmon and cod have more fat - so the fish oil from them is easier to collect, but all fish have oil for fat that is healthy. You just don't get much from warm water fish. Guest guest
Well for health food grade fish oil they do what is called " molecular distilling " I'm not sure what they do for pharmaceutical grade, but as I said it takes 100 gallons of oil that is already molecularly distilled to make one gallon of pharmaceutical grade and I've read enough to trust that they have genuine methods to refine it. _____ From: Maddviking@... Guest guest
Hi. I think it was someone named that posted about their child taking fish oil and then they started to talk. I have heard that before and got my son some cora mega (or something like that) fish oil for kids. My son hated it. I haven't give him any since. What kind of fish oil do you give? How do you know how much? As I said, the fish oil I bought before was for kids. I am not sure if there is only one strength of fish oil or not. How do you get them to take it? Thanks. Guest guest
Hi and some of the others asking about doses, Try clicking on the " Links " section. Then click on " (Advice 101) EFA-Fish Oil " . Scroll down till you find " EFAs and Vit. E " click on that. I know it is a lot of information (and confusing!), but see if it answers some of your questions. Personally, I prick the capsules with a pin and add it to my son's rice milk mixed with chocolate protein powder! Some people add it to yogurt or applesauce, some kids just take it straight! I have even read that they put it on waffles or pancakes with syrup. Guest guest
My son started babbling after 1 or 2 days - at 5 1/2 years old. I started with coromega also. It was difficult. My son had sensory issues especially above the neck and still only eats about 6 different foods. I started out putting a video on - he loved the Train at the time. I told him he had to take the coromega. He resisted and I told him I would turn off if he didn't take it. We went through gagging and crying for several days but I insisted. It might sound mean, but I knew pretty quickly that I was on to something so I continued to push. He soon began to take it without even noticing. > > , > I'd suggest you read this info --my little girls is doing well with fish oil =) > > http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=115029735601 & topic=7401 > > > [ ] Fish Oil? > > > Hi.
