Guest guest
Tina, My son's SLP is helping him w/ his sounds, stuttering is just a side thing. His stuttering is not that bad, mostly when he's excited (which at age 4 he's excited a lot ) or really trying to tel us something, but i do have to say that it has gotten much better as he's been in ST and gotten older. His SLP works him hard, but she's fun too; they play a lot of games, but also do a ton of drill work and of course moving that tongue around! His vocab his large. Every SLP he's had (so far we're on #4) has mentioned taht he has a large vocab (compared to other students they've worked w/ - what can I say, we like to talk and read to our kids...). He's been speaking in sentences for a while now (some intelligble, some not always), my husband and I joke why were we worried about him not speaking at age 2?! He talks all of the time now. I love listening to him and always wonder what he'll sound like when he gets older. He does some talking out of the side of his mouth, which the SLP isn't concerned about, saying she'll deal w/ that later. Bonnie
