Guest guest
Good afternoon! I was hoping someone could help me. My son is receiving ST from the pre-k program at school 2 days a week, and we supplment private therapy an additional 2 days per week. I have asked the school about increasing his therapy, but have been told that since he's not shown regression, they won't increase it. Well, of course he hasn't shown regression.....we've been supplementing their services!!! ARGH! Anyway, I remember reading somewhere that the IDEA doesn't require an actual regression, just that his condition (apraxia) mandates a level of therapy needed not to regress. Does anyone know where I could find that article, or does anyone have any additional info I could take to the school to amp up our argument for increase therapy? I love both SLP's (private and school), but at $500/mo (ERISA ins won't cover), for the last 2 years, we need to cut back our bill without cutting his services! Thanks for the help!
