Guest guest
I'd buy coco powder--and make the syrup yourself--keep it refrigerated. Should take about ten minutes--you'll get the consistency right after a few batches but he won't like it as much--people who consume that stuff regularly are addicted to it-that's one of the problems--it's just so bad all around--GM corn to boot as well--just the worst thing you can do to any living thing. See if you can make a home made chocolate syrup with pure cane sugar and coco powder and water--that's how we did it before the HFCS--took over the world and before everything was processed--and people drank refreshing home made syrups from fruits and club soda--before Coke and Pepsi and other sodas took over the world. So just think natural and avoid HFCS as the plague--it is really that bad for you---I have some articles that describe it--but you can google and find them---and it's in just about everything processed-because we like a LOT of food and cheap--we're so spoiled in America---and we pay for it. well, now so does the rest of the world because healthy alternatives are 10 times more expensive and considered gourmet... Even in places like Africa healthy produce and home made food has been replaced by isles and isles of processed refined carb and HFCS filled junk--and it's cheaper than real food--so people there have even less of a choice--- Really--get your Dh off that stuff--and read labels whenever you can---think home made alternatives--think organic--organic egg nog which we only get once a year for example has sugar, the non organic half the price-has HFCS--and so on take care, Elena From: liralendoncov <liralendoncov@...> Subject: [ ] chocolate syrup was Re: Increased hyperactivity with (sugar??) Date: Thursday, September 2, 2010, 9:26 PM so my husband is addicted to hershey's chocolate syrup which isn't even chocolate. Do you or anyone know of a real chocolate syrup to make choco milk with? everything is choco flavor > > Please parents--skip anything with High Fructose Corn Syrup--buy organic suits if you must----buy the stuff without the HFCS--it is the worst thing --worst ingredient for your child or for anybody--along with the chemicals like MSG and artificial coloring and all that-- Think natural--honey, pure cane sugar---maple syrup--NOT Agave--it's processed the same as HFCS. > > All the best, > Elena > > ------------------------------------
Guest guest
What's everyone's view on Agave? It comes in so many flavors including chocolate. I used to use it for my boys when I had to " doctor " up the NV before my kids got used to the taste (of no fat, sodium and only 2 grams of sugar per scoop!) Probably what you could do is mix a bit of chocolate agave with the type of syrup your husband is using now since he's " addicted " to it- and gradually reduce the syrup he's used to and keep increasing the agave? I know when it comes to husbands they can be waaaaaaaaaaaaaay tougher then kids to get foods into that they don't like Liralen! In a rush but here's some of the commercial sites on this About agave http://www.madhavasagave.com/AboutAgave.aspx (lots of flavors but no chocolate) Chocolate agave (I used this one -it's good) http://funfreshfoods.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=agave =====
