Summer Baseball

For

Children with Special Needs

WHO: Children with special needs ages 3-21 (Parents or caregivers must accompany

children if needed)

WHAT: This baseball program is designed to meet the individual needs of every

child.

We will practice the fundamental skills of baseball including batting, throwing

and catching, running the bases and fielding. We will also play games, which

will help to develop a knowledge and passion for the game. Bring your glove!

WHERE: Etta Konner Field - Pine Brook, NJ

Directions: From Route 202 turn onto Changebridge Rd. Go straight through 2

lights. Pass a boarded-up gas station and Kramer Road on the right &

immediately turn left onto Stiles Lane. Turn left onto Walnut Dr., & take the

2nd

left onto Parkway Dr. The ball field will be on your right.

WHEN: Saturdays – July 10, 17, 24, 31

9:00 a.m. – 9:45 a.m. for ages 3-7

9:45 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. for ages 8 and above

FEE: $25.00; NOTE: There will be a $5.00 processing fee for program refunds!

Summer Magic Camp

for Children With Special Needs and

Struggling Students

WHO: Kindergarten through third grade students whose reading, comprehension, and

writing skills could

benefit from some assistance through a fun summer camp atmosphere.

WHAT: Does your child need to keep learning throughout the summer? Are you

concerned that the strong gains

made during the school year will fade as the long summer unfolds?

At Pathways’ Summer Magic Camp your child will learn in a relaxed yet active

environment. He or

she can spend the summer fine tuning reading and writing skills while gaining

meaningful curriculum-based

science experiences. Summer Magic Camp is six weeks of fun, active learning, and

strong skill instruction.

Reading and writing skills will be the main focus of the camp, taught utilizing

science themes. Children will

read with teachers, mentors, and peers to maintain and refine skills. Writing

tasks will be theme-based,

modeled and instructed with a creative twist. Leveled readers, writing journals,

flip books, writing webs, and

informational reading will be utilized. The class is fast-moving and contains

many interactive lessons. Field

trips will be planned to expand learning, which parents may attend (details will

be available in June).

Snack, lunch, and an organized activity will complete the daily routine.

Permission will be requested

for walking visits to Montville Community Park across the street. Any questions

Two two-week sessions, $875 (includes a $25 discount);

All three two-week sessions, $1300 (includes a $50 discount)

For Children with Special Needs

and Their Siblings

WHO: Ages 3 and above (parents or caregivers must accompany children if needed)

WHAT: Kids will learn the rules and skills associated with the game of bowling

and have

fun socializing together with their mentors and siblings.

WHERE: Boonton Lanes — Rt. 202 and Fulton St. in Boonton, NJ

WHEN: Wednesdays, July 7, 14, 21, 28, and Aug. 4,11.

Time: 4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

FEE: $36.00 ($6 for each child per session for 2 games; shoes are included in

the fee)

Note: Registration for this program is through the Recreation Dept. BUT the fee

for the

games is paid directly to Boonton Lanes. When you come for the first bowling

session,

please bring a check in the amount of $36.00 **payable to Boonton Lanes.**
