OOOhhhhh I just love all this bitterness, I am in one of those moods where I

am wishing Lyme disease on everyone at this point, well not everyone really,

just the naysayers, be they doctors, insurers, politicians or rotten

neighbors.

Hi ,

Not surprised you picked up your Lyme in NJ, but we are only one of many

states that have Lyme carrying ticks spreading their disease. Maybe you

would like to share your story, it helps to vent and especially to learn you

are not alone? Up to you though, hope you are enjoying the list and it is

helping you somewhat. I hated NJ before I got bit.....LOL!

Supportive hugs,

Dear Kay,

I couldn't agree with you more concerning this statement you made about the

types of illnesses people will respond to positively. It is unique to find any

person

who will just accept the suffering no matter what form it comes in. It is

comparable

to people fawning all over the acutely ill person but for a chronic case there

is little

real sympathy...seems like everyone just gives up...even many doctors.

You'll probably pull out of this depression and hopefully it will be by meeting

someone

who can be sensitive no matter what form the problems come in. Naturally many of

these kinds of people are on the net trying to reach out to each other.

Thanks for posting your " reality " ....I appreciate it greatly.

I hope it's OK - I'm going to respond to several posts in one. For

those of us getting the Digest form, it's more complicated to respond

to posts and covering multiple posts in one response is quicker and

easier! :D

I just read somewhere - maybe it was here but darn if I can

remember - that some agency is catching ticks & marking them

then setting them free (sure wouldn't be MY choice!!!) in an

effort to follow the little blood suckers!

You've GOT it Marta - scary scenario isn't it? LOL - I'll tell

Skip about your suggestion - pretty good one actually! OH YES -

definitely Twilight Zone material! YUCK!

You're very welcome. She's one smart lady!

I don't think it's a big deal if you're posting information - I think

the permission is a good idea though if an individual's name, etc.

is included. Ummmmm...it's that " memory " thing again, Marta. <g>

Dependence is one thing - necessity is another, Marta, and pain meds

are often the only way to stop that pain-stress-increased pain cycle.

I think that's why her suggestion about switching pain meds is a

good one - hopefully, that would help decrease the possibility of

the " tolerance " issue.

Yes, it really is wonderful - and sadly, having LD is probably the

primary reason we have any LLD's.

Hi ,

I live in Huntingtown (Calvert County - Southern MD). YES, this

immediate area seems to be heavily infested. Yet, in Dunkirk (7

miles north) & Prince Frederick (7 miles south) the same degree of

infestation doesn't appear to exist. My hubby's best friend lives

in Dunkirk & is in his yard (grows veggies) and walks wooded trails

all the time and has never found one tick on his body! I'm really

beginning to think that our immediate area is what they call a " hot

spot " . We're spraying a LOT this year! I'm so paranoid now that I

won't even go out on our property and I get nervous just walking

from the house to the car when I have doctor appointments! I never

thought I'd say this, but I'm hoping for a FREEZING winter this year!

I know Laurel well - used to shop at the Laurel Mall a LOT before we

moved down here! Wow...do I ever miss those days!

*******************************************************************

Well, the ole brain just died so I'm hoping I can finally get some

sleep. I was up until 9am Tuesday morning and caught a few hours

of sleep in the afternoon, and now, at 6am Wednesday, it's all

catching up with me. I really HATE insomnia!

Take care and hugs to all,

Patty

Carolyn,

Thank you so much for replying to my question on speech delay, It has been very

frustrating with , because I know she understands but as with you I am so

busy with work and the other kids that we just give in to her needs. I am going

to take your advice about signing and asking what she needs and wait for a reply

or help her with the correct response. She currently is the only girl in the

family and I think is a wee bit spoiled. We are having another baby in the

beginning of Jan. so who knows maybe being the " big " sister will encourage a

developmental spurt. Keep me posted on Emma I always think about her because her

and my Emm seem so similar.

Thanks so much

Francesca,

Yes of course I have cut out sugar and did so long before I started CRON. The crazy thing is, I was amazed to find that pretty much any packaged good on the shelves has sugar in it. That includes almost all breads and cereals - even some various veggie burgers that I eat have sugar in them. I have always tried to eat whole foods in their natural forms, but I do buy some packaged vegetarian products for the sake of convenience, and am dissapointed to find that most of them have sugar in them. I agree completely with what you are saying, but after going through my pantry and looking at the labels, there is basicaly sugar in everything! I would say that a hypo diet is a lot more difficult than I would have thought.

Thanks,

Amy

Sugar increases appetite, is loaded with calories, has no nutritivevalue, and in some people is thought to cause adult onset diabetes. Manynutritionists and doctors feel that sugar is the most disease promoting foodin humans (others think fat is), not to mention the cause of obesity . Soif you're on this list and interested in a CR diet, you should have cutsugar first thing. Hi--

This reminds me of an instance which may or may not be relevant. If you

take niacin on an empty stomach, you begin to get itchy and red, starting at

the top of the head. This gradually moves down the face, neck, chest, and

to the waist. It seems to stop there. Why the redness should be localized

is a mystery to me, but begins in one place, not affecting the others, and

then progresses in an orderly way, as if controlled by an outside mechanism.

Niacin also promotes calm and sleep, so it has at least some effect on the

brain.

Thanks,

Gene
