Guest guest
Hello Families Network! We need your help on one of the bills we have been working on getting passed before the end of this legislative session in mid-January (A3673/S2516). This bill would create a registry of paid caregivers/staff who have abused, neglected, or exploited an individual with a developmental disability, keeping them from working with individuals with developmental disabilities in the future. We are concerned that the bill may not continue to move forward on the Assembly side, making it impossible for this bill to be passed before the end of the session. Please help us put some pressure on the legislators who can help us by responding to our new action alert at http://capwiz.com/thearc/state/main/?state=NJ. When you go to this link and click on the " Take Action " button you will find more information on this issue as well as a sample letter which you can modify and personalize. For those of you who are interested in even more details, you can find the bill language at http://www.njleg.state.nj.us/2008/Bills/A4000/3673_I1.PDF. On a separate note, we still do not have any additional news on the budget cuts, but I will let you know as soon as we have any information. As always, if you have any questions, or need assistance in responding to the online action alert please don't hesitate to contact me!
