There's a new sheriff in town!

For the past couple of weeks, my son, Isaac, who is 3 1/2 with apraxia has

resisted taking his NV. He hasn't really regressed, but, I clearly haven't seen

much improvement (but I still have seen some!) since his dosage has decreased. I

suppose I should be thankful for that. I've tried coercing him, encouraging him,

telling him how it will help him talk to mommy, etc.... even taking him outside,

getting him good and thirsty, then offering it to him. Sometimes he would drink

a little, but lately, refusing it altogether. Like many parents on this forum,

we KNOW that NV works. We KNOW how this product is changing the lives of our

children. I was getting SO frustrated that he just would not take it on his own

like he used to.

This morning I had an epiphany. I discovered something profound. This is it....

I am BIGGER than he is!!! I am STRONGER than he is too! So, I just decided, I

have got to make him drink this stuff, one way or another! So, I basically

immobilized him and held his sippy cup in his mouth as he fought me for about 30

minutes. Throughout that time, he relaxed and drank some on his own, which, I

praised him for. When he was finished, I rewarded him with another cup of cold

water, which he drank down pretty fast, so, he was thirsty, just very stubborn

and resistent.

Now that might seem pretty extreme measures to take to get this in your child.

For those parents who are having a hard time getting this into your child,

please know, you CAN get them to take it, just like you would MAKE them take

antibiotics if they had a bad ear infection. Sometimes, you just have to be the

parent and say, " listen, this is so good for you and is helping you SO MUCH, I

am willing to make you mad at me for a little while to get this into your body! "

Who knows? Maybe after a day or so of having to force him to take it, maybe

he'll opt for the easier way and just drink it voluntarily on his own without

the theatrics! Let's hope so!

About a month ago I tried him on the fish oils. I would hide it in his PB & J

and he loved it! Moreso than without the fish oils. Anyway, he just STOPPED

drinking his NV when he was on fish oils and since I didn't see much improvement

with just the fish oils, I stopped that and got him back on the NV. BUT NOW that

I KNOW I can get the proper amount of NV in him every day, I put fish oil on his

sandwich today, so, this is the first day he's ever been on both at the same

time! I am SO EXCITED at what I'm going to see in the near future. I will keep

everyone posted!
