Guest guest
Hi, I thought I would pass this along, as it was sent to me. Thanks,Colleen Dear Families: Please see below information on a research project that is going on right here in Georgia. They are looking for families to particpate. If you have any questions please contact Cermak at 404)304-0513 or email Cermak at tcermak@... Thank you so much, Heidi Fernandez The Simon's Simplex research project is in need of famililes. There are some criteria that must be met for participation, though - which are: 1. There must be only one child with a diagnosis of ASD (any of the 3 - autism, AS, PDD-NOS) in the family 2. The child with ASD must be 4 years old or older 3. Other family members - siblings and parents, must be unaffected (not have characteristics) with ASD in any form 4. Families must be willing to have a blood draw (they have a fantastic person that draws the blood, and is truly wonderful at doing so with kids with autism) The family would get at NO COST: 1. A full, comprehensive diagnostic work-up 2. Cognitive testing 3. Adaptive testing 4. Medical exam 5. Breif report 6. The knowledge that they are contributing to the latest in the field of research, trying to find out the causes of autism. This is truly, a worthy project that is conducted at 13 sites around the country, and the biggest genetic research in autism in the nation. We really want families to participate - this is a very important mission. Participation would involve a two day commitment and blood draws from all immediate family members. Families that are wanting to participate please call Cermack at 404)304-0513 or email Cermak at tcermak@...
