Guest guest Posted January 26, 2002 Report Share Posted January 26, 2002 Hi All, Maybe someone can give some guidance regarding the following: I am in the begining stages of acheiving a CRON lifestyle. I started making changes to my diet at the begining of this year. Starting to eat more nutrionilly dense foods and less calories. To monitor this progress I've purchased and used daily the Tanita scale. What I see is happening is that my weight is decresing but my body fat % is increasing. This concerns me, but however the change is not that great. I am wondering if the Body Fat % can fluxate just like body weight (ie, becuase of water retention, food being digested, etc)? The other question: I am overweight. 5ft 9in, 205 lbs. My set point weight is 165 lbs. I plan to lose 4lbs / month till I reach my set point and then pull it back to 2 lbs / month until I reach my CR level. When I am losing the weight to my set point, how do I make sure that I am losing mostly Fat and not muscle? If I do see a trend with the Tanita monitor of losing muscle, what do I do (Diet wise) to make sure my body burns Fat and not muscle in my CR state?
