I'm so confused....help!

Hi all,

I'm fairly new to the board. My son is 2 years 3 months. We have felt for a

while that there was something not quite right. When he wasn't developing

language along with his sister (he's a twin), I started to ask some questions. I

had a suspicion that he might have some sort of apraxia. I took him to a

develpmental pediatrician first, who was awful and said that he had delayed

language disorder (whatever that is). Then I had him evaluated by EI, who I

wasn't too impressed with either. I also, took him to a speech evaulation and

there they told me that they thought that he had some verbal and oral apraxia

and some sensory issues.

Long story short I'm trying to figure out what to do next. I've started speech

therapy and will soon (hopefully) be getting EI services. He does say quite a

few words but does not enunciate them properly. He does drool still a bit and he

is very self directed. I do see progress though without doing anything which

makes me feel hopeful. I am interested in his diet though. He is VERY picky and

seems almost addicted to yogurt smoothy. That's pretty much his life. He will

also eat humous and lots of cracker and cereal type things and anything sweet.

First, I am interested in trying the fish oil and have seen many posts but just

don't even know where to start with that. If anybody could help me out, it would

be great. Also, I'm getting him tested for celiac but even if he comes back

negative, I think I want to try the gluten/casein free diet. Does anybody have a

recommendation as to where to go for info on the diet itself and making sure

that my son will get the right nutrients in his diet?

Lastly, I know some of you have gone to meet with Dr. Agin in the city. The fee

is enormous for us but I'm thinking about sucking it up and doing it just to get

a proper evaluation. It seems like you get a bit here and a bit there. I want

somebody with the expertise and the rounded aproach to look at my son and tell

us what exactly his problem is. Do people here think that this is my best bet?

Is it really worth the money or are there any other recommendations?

Sorry to be rambling but it's all kind of overwhelming and I have a ton of

things going through my brain....
