Guest guest
I am not sure I would consider Walford a near vegetarian diet. I have kept a pretty religous log of what I eat using the DWIDP software, and I have had meat or fish 1-2 times a day. Chicken brest several times a week, Salmon or Tuna twice a week, Pork (lean Ham or lean Pork) once a week, and very lean beef once a week. I continue to eat lean red meat because of A) taste (and my wife does insist once in a while) and because I have a concern about absorbtion of iron without red meats. I also eat several eggs during the week, most often as scrambled egg whites on the weekend. The rest is fruits, veges, whole grains, some nuts, and olive oil. I am 5 foot 9 inches male currently at 168 and still losing about 1 pound per week (down from about 210 on May 1, 2001 which is whhen I started the Walford diet). I follow the diet as a part of my lifestyle (I have been able to keep incorporate it into a family life, wife and two young children) but do allow myself to eat out and have occasional birthday cake (unavoidable as a father). I also do moderate Aerobic exercises 2-3 times a week and mild weight training once a week. My meal numbers for the month of January Total Calories: 2050 (usually 1900 but a little higher this month) Protein: 100 grams Fat: 42 grams Fiber: 50 grams Carbohydrates: 342 15-20% of calories from fat, 20% from protein, 60-65% from carbohydrates. Just on Cronnie who doesn't consider himself a vegetarian. Joe At 03:45 PM 1/19/02 -0500, you wrote: Just new to this group & CR: any thoughts on the Zone as applied to CR? Apologies for the uninformed question. Thanks, Sponsor ADVERTISEMENT
