ASCF September activiities Dear Friends, The summer has really flown by and Fall is here. Are you ready for kids going back to school? Check out our attachment for activities planned this month for parents, kids and others involved with them. Our Family Picnic will be held Sunday, Sept. 12. Sign up ASAP. Workshops are Understanding Basic Rights at Hillcrest on Sept 20 at 6-8 PM. Join us for pizza, sharing and learning and still have time to get home to tuck the kids in. Parent Support groups include General group for all parents (7 pm, 9/28), Group for parents of children with Behavioral issue (8 PM, 9/28), DAD's Only, (7 pm, 9/30), General Sussex County, (10 AM, 10/7) and coming soon a and Adoptive Group. Please call 728-8744 to register Our Kids Activities include monthly Kids Club at Camp Hope staring with Sat. Sept 18 (9-11:30) Parents will have an opportunity to participate in trainings while kids are involved in activities. The first training is Organizing Your Child's Paperwork (Binder Workshop). Boost Tutoring sessions for children with special needs are starting this month as well as HELPS Early Intervention groups for 2-3 year olds with special needs. Please call us for details on these. Don't miss our Disabilities Resource Fair on Saturday, Sept. 25, 11-3 PM with vendors and trainings on Advocacy Skills and other topics. Click on the attachment for more details on the above. West Milford This workshop gives an introduction to the child's rights and parent's responsibilities in securing an appropriate education for the child with special needs.
