Why are there no appropriate studies on fish oil and how could we help?

I have seen the work of Dr. which is suggested of a connection between

fish oil and vitamin e supplements but too easily written off my doctors since

there's no control group/ it's not a blind study.

Why is that? Is it because so many studies are funded by drug companies and in

this case there's no drug company that really stands to benefit?

It seems so simple to me. This group has thousands of members. It would not be

hard to recruit. And they could run the test the proper way.

Maybe I'm being naive but I'm particularly interested in the professionals in

this group explaining how we might get the right study done.

My pediatrician luckily has a very open mind and said while there's no proof,

the fact that so many people report good results probably means there's

somehting there, and said she's fine with me starting fish oil and vitamin e and

agreed to do the basic blook tests recommended. So that's a good first step.

But I really want to understand why the right study isn't being done. Beth
