Gwen right now if you are just starting the NV and have had your child on the

Omega 369 I wouldn't add the ProEPA just yet and just keep using the 2 ProEFA a

day. ProEFA and Omega 369 are the exact same product -100 percent the same.

The only difference is where you buy them and amount of capsules in the bottle.

So... if on the bottles the one looked like an exact half dosage either your

Omega 369 is Omega 369 " Jr " which is a half dosage...or the dosage on the Omega

359 is for one capsule and the dosage on the ProEFA states two -let us know

which it is.

The recommended dosage of NV would be 2 scoops a day which can be split into two

servings a day @ one scoop each. Most of us start at a level scoop and then go

to a heaping scoop..some of us go a bit higher on the dosages with our child's

doctor as it states here http://pursuitofresearch.org/faq.html as the product is

100 percent water soluble and 100 percent all of the ingredients are whole

foods.

The only other thing is other than fish oils (essential fatty acids) you want to

stop any other supplements other than what medical necessary...think of NV and

fish oils as whole food therapy :)

Oh..and hydration -a basic guide for anyone is to take weight divided in half =

the amount of ounces of liquid you should have a day as an estimate.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Now I have it figured out, I have Omega 3-6-9 Junior. That's where the

difference is. We gave the NV vanilla a try this afternoon and mixed in with a

smoothie (blueberries, plain yogurt, and frozen banana). It didn't go over

well, so I froze what was left into popsicles. Maybe that will go over a bit

better. Maybe I need to add a bit of honey for sweetness next time? I mix all

sorts of veggies and spinach into the smoothies and never get a complaint. I

think it was the grittiness. Didn't dissolve as well as I hoped. Would an

immersion style blender help this problem? I'll keep trying different things to

see what works best.

Thanks for such prompt answers to my questions. This group is amazing!

Oh Gwen welcome to the most confusing aspect of NV...how are fish oils easier to

get into a toddler than chocolate or vanilla powder?!!

The best advise I can tell you isn't what blender -it's what you mix it with-

and yes you may want to add a bit of honey or agave (or what the heck just to

get it in Hershey's syrup for goodness sake!! I mean we're resorting to rice

krispy treats!!!)

Did you make the shake with one scoop or two scoops? Also if your children are

used to smoothies with spinach...I remember an adult who said he loves the

vanilla NV with spinach -that it tastes like creamed spinach...I think I blocked

out who said that because I don't want to associate anyone with the thought of

them drinking creamed spinach (makes me a bit queasy to think of it) Point is

-you don't have to mix NV with fruits -you can mix it with veggies too. And you

don't have to start with 2 scoops -can start with a scoop -or even a half a

scoop until the child is used to the missing ingredients they love -fat, sodium

and only 2 grams of organic sugar per scoop. Trust me I've seen all kinds of

kids eat cotton candy -and sometimes when it's hot out the texture is more chewy

or tough, not always fluffy -but try to steal some away from a kid. Texture is

an issue for some with sensory issues as I had two boys with sensory -my oldest

would would actually gag -but certain foods seem to be able to permeate past

that sensory issue -cotton candy is one them...NV is clearly not!

Good news is once you figure out how to get it in =you keep increasing the NV

and lowering the " junk " you needed to doctor it up with until they get used to

whole food healthy foods -it's worth it as you will find they become more open

to eating other healthier foods too from what's being reported.

Gwen:

I invested in a magic bullet and it works wonders. And, you can blend it in the

same cup you drink from. I got a combo pack with all sorts of mixing cups from

costco, but it was a couple of months ago. I know they sell them elsewhere too.

That little bullet mixes it up perfectly - no grittiness. I was making myself

NV shakes for a while (1/4c vanilla yogurt, 1/2 banana, 3 strawberries, 4-5 ice

cubes + 2 scoops NV) and it tasted fine. I could still taste the NV, but it

wasn't gritty and it wasn't a strong flavor. It did, however make a really

LARGE smoothie. But, if you can mix in less at a time, and maybe add in

something more to mask the flavor you'll probably be good to go. Maybe a

stronger fruit would do the trick - mango or something along those lines? And

honey might help too?

Good luck!
