Flu shot - any potential detrimental side effect for speech development?

Hi, all.

My son is almost 5 and still basically speechless with diagnosis of autism and

hypertonia. He also gets respiratory problems a lot triggering low oxygen

saturation and tend to end up in hospital more than once a year on average.

With the arrival of fall and upcoming winter, I am considering giving him a flu

shot to see if it would help him.

If anyone on this board can comment on how effective flu shots have helped your

kids in similar situations in the past and whether there are any known side

effect on speech development.
