Dr. Agin - looking for feedback

Hi all,

My son is on a waitlist for Dr. Agin, but I was told yesterday we'd probably get

in within the next month or so. Looking for feedback from anyone who has had

their child evaluated by her recently to see if we should continue to pursue

this, particularly in light of her fees (really deciding if we should spend the

money on another evaluation or on therapy).

- What was the evaluation experience like?

- Did you find the evaluation beneficial?

- What did you learn from her and her SLPs that you did not already know?

- Looking back, would you have your child evaluated by her again?

- How much did your insurance cover of the out-of-network costs (and who is your

insurance carrier)?

Feel free to email me off list if you prefer: maryfmchugh@...

Thanks in advance,

Hi ,

How old is your son? I investigated Dr. Agin as well, but given her fee, have

chosen to wait. We decided that we would go to her for an evaluation once we are

dealing with the school district instead of early intervention (my daughter is

only 2). I imagine that the thorough workup and written report would be

beneficial in obtaining needed services through CPSE or CSE.

Hi ,

My son's now 33 months, so we've started the transition process with the school

district. I sent in the intake form to Dr. Agin's office this summer though when

we got frustrated with his really slooooow progress despite a lot of EI and

private therapy. We started working with another SLP with a different approach

and are seeing improvements, but now that we're in the queue, trying to figure

out if to continue...
