Guest guest
Poor baby!!! How did you get him home without it getting all over your car?!!! I have your last message below where I see you did mention loose stools. Mild loose stools when first starting fish oils or NV are normal, but what you are describing in this most recent message is not. I would check with his pediatrician but it's possible his system is more sensitive and you should go back to the half dosage you had him on prior or even just start on just 1/4 of a scoop. The less you use the easier to get it in I'm sure anyway. But again first check with his pediatrician as I know in the past with fish oils it's not considered a big deal for the loose stools. It does appear you have already seen numerous surges so it would be a shame to have to stop. Since even on the lower dosage you and the SLP were happy about the positive surges again perhaps that will be the answer for awhile until his system is used to NV. There is a natural detox that happens in the first few weeks, http://pursuitofresearch.org/science.html but typically the stools will be soft and foul smelling -not loose. Loose is possible, but again mild loose. Just one other thing...did he just start the fish oils recently too? Also is he just 3 years old or is he closer to 4? =====
Guest guest
LOL....it did get all over the back of my car where I was changing him. I had to pull the carpet out of the back and leave it ouside to clean. Ugh. It really was a mess! He is almost 3. We started fishh oil 2 weeks before starting NV and did not have any negative side effects. I am thinking about adding the 1 EPA to the 2 EFA's. What do you think? I am going back to just doing the NV cookies and letting it slowly get into his system - stools were loose but not " blow outish. "  He is just starting preschool so I don't want to cause him stress with the loose stools on top of all the changes already. From: kiddietalk <kiddietalk@...> Subject: [ ] Re: side effect of NV?
