Guest guest
All, Got my Nutriveda 2 days ago(with barbara's help) and started my 3 year old speech delayed autistic son on it yesterday. He is also on GFCF diet. I noticed today he has little red bumps on his body so can you guys confirm that it is gluten free casein free(since it does have whey protein) and has no antimony in it from the stevia?? Thanks so much, Sent via BlackBerry by AT & T [ ] Re: my experience with nutriiveda Whoops forgot to mention that when Sowmya went to the school the teacher asked what she was doing differently because her son was so " focused " and Sowmya said " today? " and the teacher said " the past 4 days " which is when he was on the nutriiveda hyper at home. So why hyper at home and focused at school? Also just like fish oils her son regressed off and surged again on (my son Tanner and Mel are the two others that regressed when taken off for various reasons -mainly due to it running out, sleep overs in my case -and by mistake in Mel's case...Sowmya was the only one that chose to take her son off due to the hyper behavior.) Sowmya now says she no longer views her son's actions as hyper...she said it's " almost like he's aware of what's around him for the first time and just wants to explore everything. " You know read (25 year old) Mel's blog -it clearly sounds like that for her as well. http://littlemermaidmelanie.wordpress.com/about I guess once again " food for thought " (or otherwise known as nutriiveda) Sowmya's I'm sure will answer -but copied her on here again JIC =====
Guest guest
I would like to know this also since my dd has severe milk allergy(anaphylaxis). This is the reason I am waiting to order Nutriiveda. I tried to contact the co. by email but never heard back. If you receive any info please post. Thanks, Yvette A. Guest guest
Thank you for the information, . Not taking both things at once makes sense. I am going to take a break from the Nutriiveda and continue on the B12. I was seeing great results with just the B12 in the first couple of days (consistently) and it's been hit or miss since starting the Nutriiveda. Today she had her Nutriiveda in the AM and she is back to how she was before the B12. I need to explore the B12 a bit more. I do still want to return that can that is open because I'll just end up taking teh Nutriiveda, or saving it for when I am ready to start it again with in the future. Thanks, Nelia From: kiddietalk@... CC: sowk721@... Date: Sat, 23 Jan 2010 17:24:08 +0000 Subject: [ ] Re: my experience with nutriiveda Nelia thank you SO much for sharing this!!! Yes it's Sowmya's son who is autistic and apraxic who had the same results. What was interesting is that while Sowmya enjoyed the increase in speech -the hyper aspect was driving her crazy -so she took him off....and he regressed in speech. And being I know her I called her up and said " What are you doing? Why take him off -just decrease the dosage a bit " Also what we talked about...and thank you for bringing this up as she is in the same situation -doing many different things together...one supplement CAN affect another. This is why I say to try stopping the other things you are using when you start the nutriiveda. I too am not a scientist but know that sometimes one compound can neutralize another! Basic science! In fact the only three people out of the many I now know using it that the nutriiveda didn't work for in weight loss are people who are on antibiotics (in 2 of the cases) on a large amount of extra supplements I mean for weight loss my friend who trains with Mr. Florida (and talk about picky people in regards to protein powder or anything they put in their mouths -if any of you know body builders you know what I mean!!!) has MODEL friends who are 20 years old size 2 who wanted to lose a few pounds that did! My friend Bibi (who Lynn from this group met the other night has a thyroid problem and lost 15 pounds in a month -and she's continued to lose weight -and has lowered her thyroid medication! Now in regards to our children -many of us have our kids on fish oils -me too. I lowered Tanner's fish oil dosage in half and have not seen any regression -he's continued to surge. And I don't know if nutriiveda affects growth -but Tanner who I just posted it 5 foot 8 and a half 148 pounds -we just measured his height again today and he's grown ANOTHER inch and a quarter!!! He's now 5 foot 9 and 3/4 and 148 pounds -so not only as close as ever to normal in speech and facial expressions (and with facial expressions -first time EVER he had this!) but his weight is now normal too!! This morning I was actually talking to Dakota saying " do you want me to make pancakes for you? " and Tanner said " I don't think that's going to happen " So I said " Why? " and Tanner said " Why do you think? My nutriiveda " Even if I forget now (because I feel I can) Tanner reminds me. Speaking of which he's reminding me I have to take him to his friend's b'day party. I did copy Sowmya on here so she can answer too just in case she misses this. I asked Sowmya to be our resident ayurveda parent expert as she was raised in India and her grandmother was a healer and she uses all the ingredients in the nutriiveda in daily food...(and yet her son never surged until this -as I know now and Sowmya also taught me -ayurveda has to do with the synergistic blending which is what makes the ayurvedic medicine...5000 year old medicine helping with today's problems -how cool) =====
Guest guest
Thanks . I was so hoping that my dd who is 9.5 y. o.would be able to try it, she has high functioning Autism, ADHD inattentive type & is communication impaired. Better safe than sorry. Yvette A [ ] Re: my experience with nutriiveda Yvette I just answered on this. It sounds from what you are saying like your son has a true milk protein allergy (not just lactose intolerant) and thus would not be able to use the nutriiveda. Unfortunately right now I know of nothing like the nutriiveda -hopefully we'll figure out what aspect of the product (amino acids, isolate protein, synergistic ayurvedic blend etc) seems to be working -right now we don't know. There is less than 1% -something like .0 or ..00 something amount of the milk protein in the isolate whey protein - I was told as much as they tried to get rid of all it's currently not 100% possible -close but not enough for a true milk protein allergy -I wouldn't take the chance if you know that. Sorry! =====
Guest guest
Make sure you drink PLENTY of water. I haven't lost any weight yet but my body looks different.my stomach is definitely slimmer and my hubby says my face is slimmer. i am starting to get hungry during the day unlike last week.So my caloric intake has increased. Hopefully the lbs will start to come off. My husband started to take it last week but had to stop b/c it gave him some bad GI issues. Very bad diarrhea, very jittery and his ears filled with fluid. He thinks he had an allergic reaction to one of the ingredients. We did start my 6 yr old son on NV today. i am starting very slow, just in case he has the same reaction as his dad. I gave him 1/3 a scoop this afternoon. ill probably give him 1/3 a scoop 2x/day for a few days then increase to 1/2 scoop and so on. danielle
Guest guest
I did take off of the Nutriiveda and kept her on the B12. It's been about a day and a half. So far she's still very vocal and energetic. Keeping my fingers crossed! From: kiddietalk@... Date: Sat, 23 Jan 2010 23:46:30 +0000 Subject: [ ] Re: my experience with nutriiveda Nelia I think that is an excellent idea! This way you will be able to note if there is any changes in vocalization once off nutriiveda (ie regression as reported in the 3 others that regressed off -one my son Tanner) The issue isn't always the supplementation of XY or Z -or adding more of Y or X -but the digestion/absorption. You are probably doing some sort of mega dosages with the B12 -but was that all her body needed? Perhaps either yes or no. It's good to note the dosages of nutrients that are in each product used. Here is the nutritional label for the Chocolate and Vanilla nutriiveda Chocolate http://www.up0.net/content/666799/Choco_NutritionFacts.pdf Vanilla http://www.up0.net/content/666799/Vanilla_NutritionFacts.pdf I personally find it interesting that there is so much science and so many traditional medical and ayurvedic medical doctors, including world renowned, best selling authors Dr. Deepak Chopra and Dr. Simon, behind the formulation of nutriiveda- clinical science together with 5000 year old ancient healing and that right to start they research. I've seen this with the fish oils- they were always the last thing credited if you check the archives in the early days. The only way we'll learn as a group is for people to either by mistake or on purpose take their children off the nutriiveda. I did my part -twice (!!) - I'm not willing to do it again! Best of luck, =====
Guest guest
Hello, I know I asked this before, but I did not get a response. Is it OK to mix it with Hot water? (Like hot chocolate?) or with this decrease the effectiveness? Best Regards, ________________________________ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of kiddietalk Sent: Sunday, January 24, 2010 1:50 PM Subject: [ ] Re: my experience with nutriiveda What's funny is a friend of mine who doesn't have any special needs kids was over my house and reading some of the messages about the hyper side effects and said " that's normal! " " OMG if my 3 year old wasn't running all over the place I would think he was sick or something! " I can tell you many of our children DON'T go through the terrible twos...at two anyway. They are compliant " good " children. That's not normal either -so when a child all of a sudden stamps their foot on the ground and crosses their arm and shouts NO! because he won't listen to you...that is a sign he is developmentally growing up. I mean when you read the following do you think these are about special needs two year olds? Nope - " normal " two year olds..here are clips from Google -but search anywhere and find anything different " As previously discussed, the Terrible Two's are a natural part of child development and an absolutely normal stage of raising children. It is one of the hardest, challenging and upsetting stages parents and guardians go through especially for those experiencing it for the first time. There is the general disobedience, mood swings, the out and out defiance, selective hearing, and constant arguments over even the most basic requests. We also cannot forget the upset caused by seeing your beloved toddler hitting, scratching and biting others in vicious displays of terrible two's behaviour and we have not even touched on the spectacle that is the TEMPER TANTRUM! " " Dealing with " the terrible two's " as a single mother is a very difficult and trying time. As rewarding as motherhood is, terrible two's is a trying time that I, the mother of the world's most hyper child, wasn't prepared for. My son is a sweet and loving child. Mostly when he is asleep but sometimes when he is sleepy or just waking up. I always stated, pre-pregnancy, that if I ever had a child, I wouldn't have a " brat " . Judging from the glares of people in stores and the constant " advice " I'm given in restaurants, I would say I was definitely successful in raising the " brat " I spoke against. I underestimated how hard it is to be a parent of a two year old. The temper tantrums are out of control and the solution is unknown to me. I've tried to punish my child, who is very stubborn and hardheaded, but unless I intend to punish my child constantly, I've decided some of the bad behaivor is simply the reason for the title " Terrible Two's " . My son is a very sweet and loving child. He is just hyper and stubborn and testing the limits set forth by not only myself, but his grandparents who are helping raise him. " May want to watch this doctor too http://www.5min.com/Video/How-to-Deal-with-the-Terrible-Twos-9698 So parents start their child on fish oil or now the nutriiveda and the child starts moving into this stage...and if you check the archives it's viewed as a " side effect " A side effect of being normal! I don't believe most are used to seeing these developmental changes so dramatically and suddenly -many cases in the first week - like we do with the fish oils and now with the nutriiveda. What's funny however is that if the nutriiveda (or fish oils) weren't " working " we wouldn't notice any behavioral changes -what we consider " good " or " bad " There would be no change at all. One hold out neighbor in my neighborhood who knows everyone else is on the nutriiveda has been carpooling my son Tanner to school -has seen all the changes and she says " Tanner looks good " but when I said anything about it she changed the subject so I dropped it. She called me up today not just about Tanner who she has noticed a difference in...but my other son -my 15 year old ADHD son Dakota. Apparently Dakota and her son were in conversation for about a half an hour and typically Dakota doesn't talk to her son much -he will talk for hours to a few of his friends and everyone else gets one word or sentence answers from him if you ask him a question. The reason she called me is because not only her but her SON noticed the changes first in Tanner (he told his mom how Tanner is more talkative, participating in school more, and all have noticed his increased sense of humor), and now in Dakota she said " I noticed he's more focused " Her son was diagnosed here in Florida with ADHD and aspergers (I don't see the aspergers)but he asked his mom if he could start taking the nutriiveda... so she's coming over later to pick up some chocolate nutriiveda. And on a side note for taste: Yes my family now LOVES it as is but if you are just starting it and your child or you don't love it (yet -you will trust me) I did get a tip from the mom of my son Dakota's 17 YO frind (he for sure had the ADHD before -is on meds and was bounced to various schools and is now " focused " straight A student since being on the nutriiveda -again I'm asking for a professional in this area to contact me as this needs to be explored -it's in a different way then Mel's story -an amazing story as well) that she uses 2 tsp of NesQuick for Josh with the 2 scoops of chocolate and just water and ice...and with the vanilla nutriiveda she uses 2 scoops, with again 2 tsp (not tablespoon) of NesQuick with a tsp of peanut butter with ice and water and she said " OMG I'm addicted to that it tastes exactly like a reeces peanut butter cup " I have my boys used to drinking the nutriiveda without anything but water at this point -but for those of you starting out...as I posted the other day if you want you can mix in a bit of the NesQuick and apparently it blends right in taste wise. =====
Guest guest
Thanks! I haven't started with my 24 month old yet because he is in the middle of a speech surge. I am waiting for a plateau to start him on it. I will keep you posted. From: kiddietalk <kiddietalk@...> Subject: [ ] Re: my experience with nutriiveda Date: Monday, January 25, 2010, 5:31 PM  Sorry I missed this - Cassandra told me you posted this question already. (probably nobody else answered because they didn't know) I did call when I first started my son on it to ask this question and the answer I got back was that heat " shouldn't " affect it. Since I didn't hear " won't " and don't know for sure as I didn't try it for our kids -I would stick at first at least for the first week and you see it working -before going the hot chocolate route. My body builder bikini champ friend microwaves the nutriiveda with a certain amount of plain water for a couple of seconds to make a " brownie " and she says it's delicious. Not at all sweet enough for me. Like Gretchen I didn't care for it either when I first tried it..neither did Tanner. My husband thought we were nuts -he from the start thought it was delicious. We used to have to mix it with all kinds of stuff to make it taste good for us...now Tanner and I can drink it with plain water and we both LOVE it...the taste does grow on you...I probably would like that brownie now...but like I said don't want to take a chance with the heat -and besides if I want a brownie -I want a real brownie! Some of the suggestions I've gotten from Bonnie from our group are amazing. Her son only gets one scoop a day so she says she starts off with the scoop in the AM and throughout the day mixes it into all the things her son eats and she has to be creative because her son doesn't drink milk. So it's been mixed into ketchup, ranch dressing, honey mustard for his dips, sprinkled on top of his oreo cookie even! Guess the trick is since this whole thing is out of the box to keep it out of the box...but for sure I'd stick to start just sprinkled into and onto things that are not that hot -maybe....wait till the hot chocolate is luke warm then add it??? =====
