I am brand new to this site but I have a friend whose little boy was

just diagnosed with speech apraxia and I wish I could help.  He is

almost 3 and every time he learns how to say a word he loses it the

next day.  I bought her a speech device called gotalk 20 +  to help him

push buttons when the words wouldn't come and he also has sign language

down very good right now.  My daughter is autistic and we got amazing

results from alternative medicine and at 3 years and one month for the first

time she spoke at the increase of her b12 shot

I give her.  she only said " ba " for everything and it looked like she

thought that was the right word and before that she said nothing at

all.  she was very very quiet.  With speech therapy we got " ba " but we

never thought we would get more.  I posted this on my  other support

group site today  . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .  nne is 3

and she suffers from agressive rage that she seems to not

be able to control sometimes.  We started the b12 shot 6 months ago and

it made a huge difference in her bad moods.  they were happening less!

then after about 2 months I noticed that on the day she was due for her

shot(every 3 days shot) she was mean again so we increased to every

other day.  again it helped tremendesly!  also she broke out with

vocabulary for the first time with that change.  Last week we increased

her to every day which was our goal and she is doing just great!  I

have heard some kids take it daily for 4 or 5 years based on need.  We

needed this I have tried natural forms of " happy pills " in the past and

they worked for like one day then when the weather changed (which is

ever few days here in montana) like to a rain, snow, or heavy

winds(70mph gusts) she would react with rage on those days even if she

didn't go or look outside.  the weather has been a huge struggle for us

and all the other kids in town with autism

I have heard.  it makes us want to move but this is home so for now we

are getting handle on these crazy moods with methyl b12 shots.  I give

them to her myself.  At first I cried and felt like a bad mom but now I

love them and I tell nne they are " butt pinch medicine "   (we do

not say shot to her)  Has anyone else noticed less rage with b12?

I purchased an order of NutriVeda last week (waiting impatiently for it to

arrive). I just hope we have 1/2 the good results the others have.

I need to lose a bunch of weight and i am going to try it out with my son. I'll

keep everyone posted. Keep your fingers crossed!

we too ahve had amazing results speech/behavior wise with MB12 shots and

my dauhter si only apraxic with soft signs--but she went from severe prior to

the biomed interventions of diet/supplements  to moderate to mild now--soem

people say they think she just has minor articualtion issues, but of course he

multisylabic words are still a struggle and the conssitency is still not there,

the longer phrases also make her speech break down some--so she is still

apraxic, but doing oh so well since appropriate diet/supplements ahve been

implemented.

It's interestign waht you say ebcuase I've actually heard the opposite--the

rages are said to increase if too much MB 12 is given--it is supposed to be ione

of the side effects of too much MB12 in the systrem.  Some kids need it, and

improve tremendously on it since they have impaired methyaltion along with other

metabolic/neurological problems and others do not need ti or not as much.  But

definitely worth a try, along with the individualized diet and other vial brain

nutrients --liek the fatty acids--but without the carnitine my daughter was not

absorbing those at cellular level--they were in her blood and oxidizing because

they could not enter her cells--so much to learn and do for our neurologically

damaged kids!  I'm glad you found things that work well for your child. --I

actually do B12 shots for myself too as I too was severly deficinet in this

vital brain nutrient--as are many of the elderly and it affects memory,

cognition, sensory behavoral

etc.

I too now have many of the metabolic issues my daughter has and neurological

damage is pending if not addressed.  Mine is an aquired gluten intolernace and

malabsorptions, we both had microscopic parasites but not very obvious digestive

symptoms, just the malabsorptions that are so obvious and this is very common in

gluten intolernat or otherwise toxicity affected individuals.   When the immune

sytem is weakened by toxins---oportunistic infections --viruses, bacteria,

parasites are plentiful and harder to get read of because often time the immune

response is not there to even let you know what to look for, or it is all too

complex to even begin to understand --definitely not with mainstream health

practitioners who are just not taught to understand the way our body works as a

whole, how the gut and brain and immune system are so connected. In our case it

was my 6-7 dental amalgams that injured us both--her prebirth and after,

me--since I had 2 removed

inapropriately right before getting pregnat and other times in the apst when I

suffered waht I now know to be chronic mercury toxicity. This triggers the genes

that lead to gluten intolerance and other autoimmune problems, etc.  So as

always--it is very often a family predisoposition and environmental trigger

whcih some believe to be the heavy metals in aprticular from various sources but

not exclusively. There are other toxins as well and they do interact to create

the total toxic body burden which then affects not just the neurological and

immune systems directly, but metabolic function which then triggers other

malabsorptions and disfunctions that further add to the existing damage.   I'm

glad you found things that work well for your child. Keep learning and doing

your best for her--it is paying off I am sure.

All the best,

Elena
