The CDC Announces Autism Prevalence now 1 in 110

Today, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released a new

study which revealed that autism now affects 1 in 110 children, 1 in 70

boys. This new research confirms the earlier parent survey study and leaves

no doubt that the autism crisis is real and growing.

New Community Appointments Made to Autism Speaks Advisory Boards

Autism Speaks has announced the addition of two new community members, Doug

Compton and Simon, to the scientific advisory boards that form the

core of Autism Speaks' grant review process. Both are parents and will

participate in grant review meetings and provide insight on the relevance of

each grant application to the needs of the autism community.

D.C. Fashion Show Benefits Autism Speaks

On December 13, Project Runway winner and fashion designer Christian

Siriano, presented his spring 2010 collection at Washington D.C.'s premier
