Guest guest
Hi, I have been a reader and watcher of this forum I am based in the UK. My son is 4.5 years old and he has ASD, DCD, Hypotonia abd Sensory Integration problems. Since starting him on a biomedical program i.e. GF/CF diet, probiotics and MB12 injections his health has improved tremendously, he used to suffer with eczema and asthma, with severe hair loss. He would not respond to his name and just sit in the corner with a bus. We started the biomedical in October 2007 he was excatly 2 years old and then ABA in January 2008. He has really made great progress, we added fish oils at the back end of 2008 and although still non-verbal he started to become much more aware of his environment. Since the beginning of this year he no longer seems like he has ASD he seems more like Apraxia. He tries to make speech sounds something her never used to do although his range is very limited. We have also started working with a private SLP who is great and using a combination of talk tools, Kaufman and Nuffield strategies tailoring his targets according to his difficulties. So, I have been devouring all the stories about Nutriiveda and shared this information with our DAN Dr who thinks it sounds good. She has analysed the ingredients as we may need to remove some on the supplements we currently provide. So I need 2 pieces of information before we start: 1. Our son is 18kg/39.7 pounds - so what quantities of NV should I give and how often. I have seen that it should not be a problem in terms of his GF/CF diet. 2. Where can I buy it as we are based in the UK. We are really excited, as so far although in comparison to typical kids he is behind; the last 2 years we have seen terrific progress although he continues to need OT and SLP support. Also, in academic areas he is on par or ahead of his peers. So, if we can get the verbal communication he would be doing great. He currently uses signs and we have trialled 2 communication aids lightwriter and proloquo to go which he has been very proficient with. Look forward to your response. Guest guest
Congratulations Claudette! It sounds like you found yourself an incredible partner to work with to help your child -and the proof is in the pudding as your son is improving -awesome!!! About your son -most of the children about your age and weight are using 2 full or even heaping scoops of nutriiveda or NV a day. Some working with DAN or other doctors or nutritionists are going a bit higher with those dosages after starting and seeing even greater surges and that's probably fine as it's 100 percent water soluble. See info here on dosages etc. http://pursuitofresearch.org/faq.html Information for the professional http://pursuitofresearch.org/NutriiVeda_Information.pdf Serving suggestions http://pursuitofresearch.org/serving_suggestions.html And this is the theory page as to perhaps reasons why it's " working " http://pursuitofresearch.org/science.html There are a few others from the UK ordering and we are trying to figure out the best and cheapest way to get it there as the manufacturer is not " open " there yet. Autoship is not available nor is the cheap shipping that the manufacturer offers available yet but it is planned to be at some point. Right now you can order it through the international order form from our group https://nutraeasy.com/pursuit/order_pursuit_intl.html and I'll quote you with the costs per USPS shipping which has been the cheapest so far prior to processing anything. If you want me to put you in touch with other parents from the UK -please let me know! Here's just one from our apraxia.org fb page http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=115029735601 & topic=14811 but there are quite a few. I am so open to any ways to ship that would be best for those of you in countries that can't get shipping from the manufacturer yet which again is cheaper than USPS (!!) In Singapore, Zarifah and others has something called VPost which is awesome where we have the company ship for her to Vpost in the US and then they ship to her in Singapore and she's getting it out to families in Singapore and Malaysia. Hope that helps for now and again let me know if you wish me to put you in touch with other families from the UK! I have parents who have children with various diagnosis (autism, apraxia, seizures) of all different ages- and good results- which it must be because the shipping is about the same cost as a canister!! (but as some have said -totally worth it because it's working) So again your order form page would be https://nutraeasy.com/pursuit/order_pursuit_intl.html and I would send you a price quote depending upon what you wanted. The canisters (or tubs as you guys call them) are 1.9 pounds each. Let me know! =====
Guest guest
, Thanks for such a prompt and positive response - sometimes when you are doing these things you feel that you are doing it alone especially as in the US you seem to have much more proactive support system from health and education services. Anyway, we are going to review the information - it's 40mins past midnight in the UK so we need to go to bed and then discuss it with our DAN on Monday. Particularly as last night we started chelation stage of the Biomed so it feels like everything is happening at once and I am conscious that we have always up until now, introduced one thing at a time so we can be clear what is and isn't working. The details of the mum in the UK you have provided I have been in touch with already, and we have been talking for the last few days. It would be great to be put in touch wth other families as well. Finally, I will be in touch mid-week to let you know what we will do in terms of shipping. Thanks for your support and I am so glad I have found this group. Claudette# From: kiddietalk@...
