Chronic cerebro-spinal venous insufficiency (CCSVI) is a syndrome in which the

venous system is not able to remove efficiently the oxygen-poor blood from the

CNS. It is mostly due to venous stenosis of the jugular and azygos veins, or

problems in veins' valves.

 

A limited clinical trial suggested a link between CCSVI and multiple

sclerosis...
