Guest guest
Hi everyone, My dd was just diagnosed with severe apraxia. Here is a little background: She is 3 yrs old. Has severe GERD- has had a feeding tube since 10 weeks old but has been eating drinking enough in the past 4 months so we have not had to tube feed her. She is on her second set of ear tubes- has had hearing problems on and off since 4 months of age. She understands everything but can only say mama and da and never on command. She is very very tiny for age (21 lbs and 30 " ) so they are looking for a syndrome for her but have not had any luck so far. She is very very feisty but has major behavioral problems (we are hoping due to her frustration with lack of communication) She signs about 20 words. I have so many questions but the two biggest ones are: 1. how many speech therapy sessions do your kids get a week? 2. if you live in Ontario Canada how do you get funding for speech therapy? thanks so much for your help
