Guest guest
Have you looked at " Raising Your Spirited Child? " I have the audio version, but it was very helpful in giving me ideas for redirecting and altering bad behaviors. I still go back to it, three years later, with my current 3-year old. I have always tried to show him how to talk quietly and we talk about it all the time. But nothing works. I think it is sensory so I was wondering if anyone here has any suggestions or books I can read to help. His terrible 2s are out of control. Guest guest
there are these super cool phones called toobaloo. They are for speech therapy. when a child puts them to their ear and speaks they hear them selves VERY LOUDLY. maybe this would help him be quieter because naturally most people can not handle the loudness right in their own ear. I would practice with those if he were being real loud as a punishment and then wean him off like asking can you talk more quietly or should we use our toobaloo for this sentence? also can you number the volume you want him to speak. You should record yourself talking in about 5 different ways. 1-silent,2- whisper, 3-quiet, 4-regular, 5-loud. If I say talk quietly to my 4 year old she whispers and I can't understand her. good luck! I am glad he is able to talk. hopefully you will find ways to fine tune it.
